Oh my fucking lord.
-
Wood's first touch there.
-
Should have started Wood, then at least we could have had some hope of bringing on goals if we went behind.
-
Windass looks like Messi compared to Chris Wood.
-
They've been up for it, some of ours looked like they were shitting their pants in comparison.
-
30 mins for the A-listers to redeem our soft as clarts squad players.
-
Anderson has to finish there.
-
Can't really complain tbh.
-
Ritchie might lack any sort of pace, but he's always been game as fuck.
-
Yep. The lads are trying to play the right way, they just aren't good enough to pass their way through a high press.
-
Anyway, Wednesday are a useful side at their level, they are well worth their draw at the moment. I've seen stronger Newcastle teams go out to a lot worse teams.
-
How the fuck are we discussing Rafa's signings in this match?
-
Good game in general, but the difference in class between the first teamers and the replacements is glaring. Joelinton, Botman and Longstaff easily the best players, Isak showing he is a threat, but the rest really struggling to string moves together.Murphy and Lewis just don't have the aggression or self belief to play at a club like `Newcastle. The occasion just seems to overwhelm them.
-
Murphy could drop division after division and he'd still end up looking outclassed

Starting to find our passes better now.
-
I understand that they will be a bit rusty, but truthfully most of them are just really poor players.
-
A couple of players might not make us title contenders, but the top 4 place is there for the taking with the weak start made by Spurs, Liverpool and Chelsea. It might be very tempting to strike while the iron is hot, next season we might not be in such a good position as we find ourselves in now.
-
Of all the teams we've played so far, their movement gave us the most problems IMO. I think we only managed about 33% possession over the 90 mins+ which is not like us these days. Obviously other teams have more firepower than them, but they already have a healthy lead at the top, if City don't win it, then I would think they must be next favourites.
-
I think he's just a good nuts and bolts player, probably similar to McTominay for Man U. Not going to be good enough starting week in week out, but can definitely come in and do a sterling job when required. Same goes for Willock who is a player I really like, and is still only 23. He's a player still improving, but isn't quite ready to be our go to midfielder in that position IMO.
-
Dunno like, I'm starting to get stressed by it all since the Big Six clubs starting winning as well.
-
Longstaff is a great squad player, I don't have any desire to see him leave. He's lacking in genuine midfield touch and flair, but he's got a great work ethic and has played a big part in keeping us hard to beat. We just need a top quality replacement to be starting ahead of him to take us to the next level.
-
I agree, think this bigging up of Longstaff is understandable, but not accurate. At the same time though, no coincidence that Man U's form has sky rocketed since they invested in Casimero who brings a touch of real class and quality to their midfield. That's what we have to do as well, McTominays or Longstaffs aren't the answer.

We are in with a great chance of a top 4 finish, you could argue that we've got this far with our key strikers missing for a significant number of games. But you do have to bear in mind the likes of Spurs, Chelsea, Liverpool and Man U have been building higher value squads for a long time now, they can cope with injuries better usually. Although of those, Spurs don't look particularly impressive any more with Son's performances falling off a cliff.
-
I think this is true, he's been mostly superb defensively, been a big part of our rock solid defence. But at the same time, you do have to look at his limitations going forwards, and his lack of pace was pretty exposed last night. Not easy upgrading on a player performing well, but if we want to get to the top level, then we have to find better everywhere, not just left back.

It's glorious seeing them wet the bed at the prospect of NUFC knocking on the door again. Fine, spit the dummy out, but we have shown we fear nobody. Eddie might not dance about or talk smack like Klopp and Arteta, but he has ice running through his veins. Keep dancing you twats, we won't be stopped.
