I can understand that POV. I haven't seen much of Gordon, McTominay is a bit underwhelming, but Howe is usually a good judge of a player. Realistically both players would improve on what we've got, and I imagine even if Gordon's not got the skillset of ASM, he's probably going to fit the team ethos better. Both players would. They will improve us, just not sure they are CL quality, certainly McTominay isn't.

Oh and he can make some pretty decent saves when he has to.

He has. I still don't get the criticism of his footwork, he does everything I want in a keeper, commands his area and takes the crosses, does the job of a sweeper, and throws the ball to the best placed footballer he can find instead of launching it 60 yards.

Sorry to keep banging on about it, but this stat just makes me angry every time I see it, because the only game we lost this season was against Liverpool where we got cheated out of going 2-0 up and winning the game.

Agree, Trossard had a big impact considering he was only on for ten mins or so. Martinelli hasn't quite kicked on this season after an outstanding campaign last time round.
