On the right yes, but they're playing the ball constantly through the left flank. Think they'd look better trying to play faster through the middle than send crosses in. Get Messi to do some maze dribbles because whipping crosses in to Gonzalo and Aguero won't work against those defenders. Obviously there's no point throwing in crosses, but having Messi drift out right to find some space would help a lot. He's sorrounded by players every time he gets it. Get him in some space to run at people cutting inside. Give someone for Zabaleta to overlap off and create space for Aguero centrally too.

What was this about, the France goal that used goal-line technology? I didn't understand the whole discussion about it on the radio later; the initial effort didn't go in, then the keeper fumbled it and it did. What exactly was the problem at the time? They showed the first effort hitting the post and (rather pointlessly) used goal line technology to show that it hadn't crossed the line. They then showed the replay of the keeper fumbling it over the line and used GLT to show that it had crossed the line there. The first replay was kind of pointless, since nobody thought it had crossed the line there, but it was obvious enough what was being shown. To everyone except Jonathan Pearce. He started screaming "No goal!!" after the first replay, then lost the rag completely after the second one, saying they'd changed their minds. He was outraged, started questioning the legitimacy of GLT. Keown tried to explain it several times, Pearce was having none of it. Was a good laugh.

Only hope I have is that Pardew must be destroying (or failing to maximise, at least) the resale value of so many of our players. It's a stated aim of the board to buy players with the hope of selling them on at a profit later. How many of our current lot would fetch more than, say, five million? Debuchy?
