We're set up to just launch it long in general, the movement off the ball is shocking which is a large part of why Ben Arfa ends up going it alone so much. Cabaye for example should be getting into far more advanced spots than he does with Tiote alongside him to play as the holding man, but he sits incredibly deep. He's not cut out to play in our current style of play unfortunately, fully expect he'll be off in the summer and if we're lucky we might sign someone better than Obertan to be an option down the right.
-
Still fucking furious here like, can't believe we threw that away. Actually thumped the mattress and shouted "fuck" when I woke up this morning. The lass was not impressed.
-
Wonder if Raylor will keep his spot after basically not contributing anything today. I'd start Obertan ahead of him like. He's shite but with the way we're set up Raylor may as well not even be there when he plays RW. At least Obertan gives us some width and pace. We could always play that other French lad as well of course, the one who's actually good at football, but I'm trying to keep things somewhat realistic.

Can't believe some people are thick enough to be turning on Ben Arfa. Guy has been treated like absolute shit, looking more and more like Pardew just wants rid of him and is never going to give him a real chance. I'll be fucking gutted if he goes, one of the most talented players I've seen at the club and we're just going to toss him away while playing rubbish footballers like Ryan Taylor and Obertan ahead of him. I honestly don't know if I'll be able to continue to support Pardew if he does get rid, what sort of manager doesn't even want to try and use a talent like that?
-
The playing Cabaye deep alongside Tiote would be understandable if we were going to go at them with two attack minded wingers who could run at them and cause problems. But instead we started Ryan Taylor on the right. He honestly may as well have not been there.
-
Shouldn't it be "nail on the head?" Really hit the nail on the nail there though Sewelly, I agree.
-
Agree entirely Sewelly, if he gets rid of HBA without giving him a fair shot (which he absolutely hasn't thus far) then it'll be a massive strike against Pardew for me.
-
Cabaye is playing far too deep, that's for sure. Guthrie seemed to be much more advanced against Villa than Cabaye has been in recent times, I wonder if any of it is Cabaye? His record at Lille would suggest otherwise, can't say I watched them much though so I don't know. Either way he needs to be playing further forward, the gap between midfield and attack is shocking.
-
Ferguson at LB is too risky even for me, you can be fucking sure Pardew won't consider it.
-
I'd put Raylor back at LB and play Santon on the right. Simpson will keep his place though, he must train really well or have pictures of Pardew bumming a ladyboy or something. He's like the Shola of defenders.
-
You could look at it like that, but IMO the goals went in so quickly that they influenced the performance rather than the other way around. And Wolves certainly didn't 'deserve' a goal themselves, their attacking play was shocking. No more shocking than ours. 2-0 up against a team who are basically managerless, low on confidence and are basically there for the taking. We should have went for their fucking throats and stuck 4 or 5 by them, not sat back and tried to hold what we had and invite them to try and do something. It was gutless and fucking stupid, and it's cost us two massive points today.
-
We were poor in the first half tbh, created very little and never deserved to be 2-0 up.
-
He should be 4th choice CB really, the failure to bring a CB in during the January window was always going to prove a mistake and is doing so already. Just hope it doesn't cost us a top seven spot.

Would be winning 8-0 by now if it wasn't for this f***ing coward! Wahey, the benefit of hindsight! If you're gonna make childish little jibes then you have to expect them back tbh. Fuck off man. My point was that Pardew has managed us to a good position in the league. Which he has. You know full well what you were at, it was a dig at the people who've been getting after him all week for starting Raylor. I agree he's done well, but people are entitled to criticize him for things they don't like.

I don't think we're set up well to play this lot tbh, result today aside they've been very solid defensively and if we go hoofball we'll struggle to score. They also have pace on the break, which is a real worry for us. Draw seems likely, always impossible to predict a derby though.
-
He doesn't fit into how we want to play, which is a large part of the problem. I'm sure he'd pass the ball more if we had some sort of movement going on around him. He does need to use the ball better when he does get his chances, but it baffles me that some people can't see that he's the most dangerous creative player we have. 9 out of 10 of Robert's crosses were wank, you put up with that because the tenth one will be fucking impossible to defend. Same with Ben Arfa, yes he lost it plenty today but he was also the only one who looked like making the winner.
-
You honestly think Ryan Taylor is a better option to start?
-
It's his job to motivate the players. We were shite start to finish, never deserved to be 2-0 up and fully deserved to throw it away. Shite game between two teams that played shite. Pardew takes huge amounts of responsibility for it.
-
Stop inventing responses to your posts to argue with lads, it doesn't really achieve much.
-
Think this might burst our CL hopes bubble. We can't afford to drop points in games like this.
-
It's only right midfield where he even had a decision, no? Aye, and he played the most defensive minded player there, a player with no ability to play pass and move football. We were sent out to play a game of hoofball, unacceptable at home to a team as poor as Wolves IMO.
