I'd agree if we had Tiote and Cabaye, but without them I can really see us getting overwhelmed by the quality Spurs have in midfield. Villa created some pretty decent chances when they did get forward, Perch did alright yesterday and Guthrie did great in patches, but neither give us a real physical presence and bite in there which we'll need as Spurs will have a lot of the ball. I'm pessimistic about this one, but agree that it's kind of a freebie.

How good is this McClean then? Honestly haven't seen him in action. What side does he play? Apparently he's declared for ROI, would be nice if someone could unseat Aiden 'I'm actually absolutely shite' McGeady from the starting line-up.

We need another CM and a better full back than Simpson to field a decent 4-3-3 IMO. I'm torn on it, I really feel weird about moving Ba after how well he's done up front. I do think it could potentially work very well though.

His playing style really reminds me of Jan Molby tbh.

Aye, the man clearly has incriminating pictures of everyone. I'm sure if I became manager and brought him in to tell him he was surplus to requirements he'd casually just pull out some images of me doing something stupid years ago or something. He's like the guy from Sliver or something, just on a massive scale.

Yeah Pilko, explain yourself you cunt.

Suffocate on my taint, motherfucker. Genuinely stunned and I apologize sincerely.

No way Mike shopped that himself.

Seems made for the Premiership, will be even better when we shift him to the right as well.
-
Fair play to him like. He's lowered expectations to the point where that is considered encouraging.

Any time I actively hope for a Man U win they lose. Surely I can make money off this somehow?

Krul - 9 - He's class like. Made some tremendous stops and couldn't be faulted on the goal. The amount he's improved in the last year is stunning, always been a tremendous shot stopper but just looks the total package now. Simpson - 6 - Becoming clearer every week that we'll need to upgrade in the summer if we want to be in this part of the table on a permanent basis. Just not good enough. Colo - 8 - Makes everything look easy at times, we need to extend this man's contract. Williamson - 7 - Thought he looked solid today. Will always be a limited player but a good squad player. Santon - 7 - Good today. Think switching to the right is going to add a whole new dimension to his game. Big, skillful and a great athlete, think he's absolutely made for the Premiership with the way he plays. Perch - 7 - Thought he did well. Like Williamson the guy is a limited player at this level, but did his job today. Guthrie - 7.5 - Did well at times and frustrated me at others. Some of his attacking play was great, put one on an absolute plate for Cisse who headed over. Kept us ticking over very well in midfield. Defensively he got caught quite a few times and we were lucky it didn't cost us. Let Keane run in behind him from a throw in the second half, and was standing around looking at Gardner for that late chance. Jonas - 7 - Typical Jonas performance. Defensively great, worked his balls off and carried the ball down the wing well. How I wish he had some end product. Raylor - Did alright while he was on, brave for the goal. Hope he's OK, would fear the worst though. Ba - 8 - First half he was immense, what a player he is. Can do absolutely everything you'd want a center forward to do. Incredible that we were able to get such a good player for nowt. Faded quite a bit in the second and wasn't as involved. Best - Not on long enough to rate. Cisse - 8 - What an outrageous strike, can't think of many better debut goals. Think he looks absolutely cut out for the Premiership, his movement is great and he looks very, very quick. Did very well in the build up play too. Actually snatched at his few half chances and then missed an absolute sitter when Guthrie teed him up, but more than made up for that with his wondergoal. Me Pappsta. Obertan - 6 - Better than normal, he actually showed a few nice touches. However he still looks like he doesn't have a clue what to do when he gets the ball at his feet with the chance to do something with it, he was very wasteful at times despite finding himself in some great positions. All in all a fantastic team effort and a massive three points.

Very good today, though he still switches off defensively a bit at times. Really thought we benefited today having one true DM and one more attack minded player. Perch never got near the Villa box and it really gave Guthrie license to play further forward. Sometimes I think that we lack that definition with our CM's, especially when Guthrie and Cabaye play together.

What a goal like. His movement is superb and he gets involved in general play far more than I expected. He's also fast as fuck. Looks absolutely made for the Premiership.

They're the Dembii, and lets wait a while eh? That said, theoretically they compliment each other perfectly.

Anyway, off to the pub to watch this. Not expecting anything pretty, but any sort of win will do. HTL.

Cisse is his player. Much the way Obertan was his player. Ben Arfa was, is and ever will be Hughton's player. Pards signed him? Not in the same way like all the other new signings, though. It was more a case of keeping him rather than signing him. He's alrady been here... Well he could have easily decided not to keep him? You bought a house, which makes you financially skint. In that house, there's a TV, that isn't your real favourite but you can't go out at the moment and buy a new one straight away. Do you keep the TV? Yes you do. He was only on loan and had a massive injury, would have been very easy for Pardew to justify not making his deal permanent.
-
Think it's pretty clear he doesn't trust Ben Arfa at all. Either he's trying to mold Ben Arfa into a more hard working player through this tough treatment of him, or else he doesn't want him here long term. The fact that he changed the system for him the last few games seems encouraging, but I really don't have a clue how it'll all end up tbh.
-
Actually hope we see plenty of long ball today, no good can come of involving Perch in the play when we have the ball.
-
Thought we'd get that alright, only surprise was Best instead of Shola. Disappointed Ben Arfa has been dropped.
