Can just imagine Pardew meeting Cisse for the first time and his heart sinking when he saw how short he was.

Wonder if he could play centrally in a 4-3-3 as well as out wide in a 4-4-2? Looked technically very good in the few appearances he had for us, can certainly the pass the ball about nicely too. Seems better suited to the role than Jonas IMO. Cabaye Tiote Marveaux HBA Cisse Ba We'd need a real left back and Santon at RB, obviously. The way Pardew raves about workrate I can't ever envisage him dropping Jonas though.

Ba is well able to play as a second striker and he and Cisse would be more than fine as a partnership if we were being set up a bit better. Most of their games together we've played with two holding midfielders and Ryan Taylor on the right wing. They're far too isolated and as a result struggle to achieve much. Playing Ben Arfa on the right will help a lot, but the real issue is that Pardew needs to rediscover his balls and stop having the CB's and CM's playing so fucking deep. We've been doing that since Fulham raped us in the second half and it's a major reason for why we're seeing so much hoofball, the manager is too terrified of getting exposed at the back to allow the midfielders to push on.

We tried to pass the ball in the first half and did a decent job keeping the ball away from Arsenal, the stats on possession at half time were about even. Second half he hardly had the thing at all because we just launched it back to them each time.

That throw was abysmal, straight to the Arsenal player. Had one of his better games funnily enough, but he's average at best defensively and one of the worst attacking full backs the world has ever known. If he's first choice RB next year it'll be ridiculous.
