The problem with Nolan for me is that he shows no interest at all in getting on the ball in midfield, not that he's unfit. His instinct is to get forward and try and get on the end of knockdowns from long balls, which is a major reason why we've been so "direct" all year. He's quite a clever player and a decent finisher, which is why he'll get you goals, but he's a complete hindrance to any team attempting to play the ball forward on the deck. Allardyce's Bolton was the perfect setup for him. Two central midfielders beside him that allowed him to get forward all the time, big target man CF to help create chances for him. In a 4-4-2, however, he leaves far too much on the plate of his partner in the middle of the park.

Then you're getting punished for genuinely being hurt, which isn't really fair at all. There are literally no drawbacks whatsoever I can think of to just letting the physios come on to treat an injured player while the play is still ongoing.

It's amazing that physios still have to wait until the ball goes out of play before they can come on to treat an injured player. It would solve this issue immediately if they could just come on immediately when a player goes down, with the added bonus being that playacting dickheads who writhe around on the ground with nothing wrong with them when they don't get a free-kick would only be hurting their own team. It was lunacy that they hadn't changed that rule 10 years ago.

If we go up I'd like to see us take a look at Robbie Keane. Surely on his way out at Spurs, will be 30 by the start of next season so I think his days of commanding ridiculously inflated transfer fees may be over. Proven Premiership goalscorer and the kind of lively player we need.

Hughton deserves credit for this year, it's ludicrous to try and suggest he's not had a massive role in the success we've had this year. Do we have better players than pretty much everyone else in the league? Yes, we do. Have we been lucky at points this year? Yes, but everyone has luck on their side from time to time. Hughton took a rotten dressing room and has them playing together as a team. I think he'll get found out very badly in the Premiership if we go up and he stays in charge, but that doesn't mean I have to pretend he's done a bad job this year.

Pr*ck - don't really post on here but what the hell do you expect??? Last summer everyone was panicking that because of debts we would 'do a leeds' but instead we have bought top quality championship players because we are a championship team. The sooner people get their heads around this the better. We have spent 18millon on people who have had less of an impact in two years than this guy has had in two weeks. Knobheads like you would only think the sun shone out these players arses if they cost ten times as much. We are now for the first time ever a sustainable club with no long term debt issues, we are top of the league, we are probably spending more on wages than any championship club ever has but still people whinge? WTF??? What did you want to happen??? Be so awesome that we would get promoted by default? Get behind the team - stop degrading them and we might get somewhere this year and next. Believe it or not - get behind the owner!!! We could get someone so much worse. Liverpool, Man Utd, Portsmouth and Notts County are all proof of this.
