I'm sure everyone won't be happy with simply qualifying for Europe forever, but for this season it would obviously represent success. We're not in the position we were when people were moaning about qualifying for Europe, your standards have to change depending on where you find yourself. Not moving the goalposts at all. I'm only saying I hope the new board will be more successful than the last one mate, unfortunately there are quite a lot of people who actually really think the last one did really s*** and don't realise how well the new ones are going to have to do if they are to be better. Fair enough, I do believe that the old board had taken us as far as they were going to so this is a good time for a change. A lot remains to be seen and there's no gaurantees, though I agree that we have the right manager in place to get things going in the right direction and I've been encouraged by the actions of the new people so far. And I know FS appointed that manager, every dog has his day I suppose. More like the monkey with the typewriter and infinite time eventually banging out the complete works of Shakespeare. No, it's not at all.

I definitely expect a natural RB to come in. Perhaps a more attack minded RB, with Faye playing there when we feel a more physical approach is needed against the better teams away from home. Would make sense, if he can play RB at all that is. Also can back up Butt as DM and provide another alternate to Ramage (no offence if you're reading, Pete) at CB. Given his versatility and how upset the Bolton fans are I'm quite liking this signing.

the renowned football connoisseur KaKa Who was "depressed"at the idea of signing Ronaldinho.

3? Edmilson, Belletti, Deco, Gudjohnsen and Ronaldinho ( ) I think , a fair amount in all honesty.

I was really hoping for another angry rant from Kane there. kane, you'll never get everyone on your side. There'll always be cynics and piss-takers, but you can't focus on them. You're winning friends here and other places all the time, focus on that instead. Rise above the WUM's and you'll come off looking a lot better and more intelligent. Most people's main concern is that you're a bunch of chavs with a potential hooligan element, and posts like that aren't gonna help you shed that tag by any means. Anyway, keep up the good work.

Don't worry, he'll always be a legend here so it's not a big mistake at all. Sarcasm? Whether you were being sarcastic or not - i've said that anyway. I'm not overly bothered. No, not sarcasm. Lighten up a bit, maybe? Wasn't being mardy - i just thought yours was maybe in tandom with Toon Taylor's complaint about the sentimental stuff. No worries, just don't let it happen again.

Quality player from what I've seen. We should go in for him when they go down. This Smoggie lad I know reckons he's better than Fabregas. Blimey. My mate says all he does is fly round the pitch, performing stupid tackles giving away daft free kicks, gets booked and is always knackered after an hour of running round doing f*** all. Sounds familiar. http://www.goal.com/resultsimg/3985.jpg

Agreed 100% Was Nobby a boyhood Newcastle fan or something? By this logic we should never have bought Solano in the first place.

Rozehnal is older than Smith btw, at 27 I'd class him as entering his peak years. Defenders generally peak at an older age though. You should know this, Greg I do know this, my point was that I wouldn't class Rozehnal in the same bracket as Enrique. Rozehnal is just coming into his peak years now imo. Was a joke regarding the fact that Shak potentially got this opinion from Football Manager 2007. Something you're very well-versed in! Or maybe Shak just watches football in general, eh? Not played FM since the 2006 version either.

thats the slight worry, all first team players, and yes i know we needed a lot of work there, but how many youngsters did he bring into the bolton fold from outside. i'm not saying it's wrong, just wondering if his scouts are so good could we get them younger and save money and drill them to the NUFC way earlier Time will tell, I'm happy he's building us a good team for the now though. Finding good young players to bring through will come in time, in Sam we trust.

Thought Sam wanted tall, powerful full-backs?
-
They'll be fine. Sam was holding them back the last year or two, CL for them this year and they'll play great football getting there.
-
Barton, Enrique and Rozenhal all have their peak years ahead of them still, and Geremi and Smith are only entering their peak years now. Not a worry at all for me.

Strange thing for me to say, but does it matter when the fee is so little? I think it does, I'd rather pay more and sign someone who could have a long term future at the club. I think most people would. But finding that player might be difficult, bring in Belletti (or someone similiar, if this story turns out to be untrue, hich is quite possible) in the meantime and when we find a great young prospect for the position bring him in to take over eventually.
-
Be happy enough with that. Ideally would like someone younger and spicier that we can look to have in our team for a decade or so, but if there's nobody like that Sam feels is worth pursuing then Belletti will provide us with a good option for a few more years.
-
Be a good fight that. You have to fancy Faye would annihilate him, but then Barton is a madman so that complicates things.
-
Looks likely this will be going through now. Pleasing addition as he fills two needs (back-up DM and a 4th CB) and seems to be highly rated by the Bolton fans. If we got a top class RB in now then it would be just fantastic, so great to finally have some squad depth. Awaits Gartside's inevitable 'Faye was boring the fans, O'Brien will bring excitement to our defence' comment on this.

Nice name change.

God damn it, that Dave is a robot I tells ya.
