TIME TO TAKE THE COLONY BACK, LADIES

Thats ridiculous. I reckon Slim would've given it to you for nowt.

"Resisting" It's like Hitler trying to sell you AIDS for the low low price of six hundred quid. How could you possibly resist.
-
I believe it does, but "better" probably means about a tenner. To a contract he likely signed when he was 12 or some shit like that.

Bookies don't know shit on this kind of thing dawg.

Do you wish "Guy" would "get in the sea" ?

It doesn't. We stopped playing years ago.

Aye. Joe Hart is better than Peter Schmeichel as well.
-
I'm undecided on the matter personally.

Aye Nut, you hear that, you're wrong. You think Ospina is better than Cech, you idiot.
-
Can't believe what i'm reading and that's saying something. Literally no one has said he's not better than Ospina Nut did. He didn't. I'll admit it was a little confusingly written, but he means the current #1 for last seasons top 5. i.e. Cech not Ospina.

Don't see how its ridiculous, its not as if he has to turn up for training or have any involvement with NUFC. He just has to go out and find a new club and once a tribunal sorts out compensation he can play poorly for them. He's an out of contract worker who cannot work for someone else unless they pay a fee. He is neither earning, nor capable of earning elsewhere. He's basically forced to re-sign for us, on a no doubt ridiculously low ball contract. Spain abolished this kind of compo because it infringed on the footballer's right to practice his profession. I'm all for rewarding clubs that develop players, but this seems to me an excessive restraint that hurts the footballer. Obviously not going to happen in this case but it would be unfair if you spent ten years developing a player and then he just let his contract wind down and a big club comes in and the smaller club gets nothing I don't disagree with that, but this system is shady as fuck and IMO will only end up getting challenged by someone's legal team in the not so distance future. Also, if we really wanted to keep Sammy, we could have given him a longer contract, or offered him a better contract a few years ago. There has been plenty of time in which we were in the best position to tie Sammy up for a long time. I think this compensation malarkey has to change so that the owning club has to offer a minimum x% pay rise, or maybe change it so that it really only applies when it's an upward move through the leagues. Incidentally, the system would be fine if there weren't people like Mike Ashley, whose only interest is milking every penny out of the game, rather than building a competing football club.

That's a pretty significant increase tbh. Because when people drop stats they ignore all context. It's fine in a "play" based game, like your American Football, but in real football, they're useless without context.

Can't believe what i'm reading and that's saying something. Has anyone said he's not better than Ospina? I just don't think it'll make much difference. Arsenal had the 3rd least GA in the league last year and finished third. I doubt Cech will do much to change that. Arsenal need a keeper who won't make mistakes at important times. Not sure Cech is the guy I'd be picking for that role. Especially after a year on the bench. Either way, for them to improve, they need to do a lot more than swap out Ospina for Cech.

Assuming giving him the #3 means we're expecting for him to be a first choice player in a NUFC team. I find that very difficult to get excited about. He's fine, and probably better than everyone but Janmaat, but most of our defence is utter shit. If we had any sense we'd be buying pretty much a whole new backline and Dummett would be a decent bench option, nowt more. Sad times.

suppose if you were believing in it you'd have to think that he still so good he'll inspire the defence in front of him through him giving them confidence in what's behind them it's arguably happened in the past with keepers, can't see why cech couldn't inspire the arsenal shower to raise their game a bit He's too meek to be inspiring imo.
