Looks like Okugu was pretty much the only Orlando player who wasn't booked for diving.

  3. Your nipples are going to be in shreds by the end of the game. Undershirt up.

This is nonsense iyam. Outside of sports there are endless different events that I see listed that I'd go to in a heartbeat. Most of them revolve around eating/drinking, but that's just fine with me.
  5. Sherwood is still just unproved for me. His record does warrant him a crack at the whip though. However, his tactics and his Ray Winstone persona are fairly unappealing to me.
  6. If you had owt about you as a poster you'd have done that for me. Just a criminally bad effort by Mistle. Spurs would've finished 3rd with their form under Sherwoord stretched over a full season. They're currently 6th. Vast improvement indeed. Over 28 games he averaged 1.64 points per game, which would've given them 62.4 points over the course of 38 games. This would be less than the 69 points they actually ended up with. They would have finished 7th and not 6th. Obviously it's just an average, but to state that he'd finish 3rd (>82 points), is rather far fetched.
  7. you've really been off-the-grid aye?
  8. Aye. Straight on the massive plate of pasta regime. Sports science.
  9. Odd. Surely Barca would've been sensible to throw big monies at him given they can't replace him?

Well, that happens because "Newcastle" is singular. Though I use both. Newcastle the city is singular, Newcastle as a team is plural. It's a conundrum. I assume either is technically correct. Very interesting conversation topic either way.

I'm still convinced Okugo was the guy, but Kanji may be right after all. One of the two CMs couldn't do anything right though. cmon dude, between me, everyone who watched the game not named you and SI. You still not convinced? You think Cabella is tall too? I'm surprised to even see to Orlando City players in there I mean seriously, is that the level? I though Orlando were still trying to gel. If that is XI of the Week material I'm f***ed. f*** sakes Kanji what have I gotten myself into? Already scheduled to watch the next game on tv. I didn't see the game, but my blind answer is a resounding yes. There are very few teams in the MLS capable of successfully passing the ball more than 3 times without giving it away. There is a lot of effort but very little team quality, just a few good players who every so often make something magic happen (where have I heard that before...). Although I imagine NYCFC & Orlando have an excuse given it was their first game. Which team plays the best football in the MLS? Seattle, Portland, SKC, LA. It fluctuates. New England played some decent football last season. Also, we need to end this "the MLS." It's just "MLS." Just as we don't say "the MLB." It's a pet hate and perhaps a YANK thing, but that's just how it is. This was mentioned on the Guardian podcast last week. Massive effort to change in my head since I think refer to every other league with 'the' apart from 'la' liga. I've been saying 'the NFL' too, is that wrong like too? Nah, it's "the" NFL, NBA, and NHL. It just doesn't make sense to say "the Major League Soccer," which comes out as "the Soccer." As opposed to "the National Football League" (the League) or "the National Basketball Association" (the Association). It's really incredibly pedantic, but drives me nuts. It's not pedantic, it's proper use of "the". The issue is that "MLS" is a shit name for a league, so they can get fucked and deal with the improper grammar. Name your league with "league" on the end and we have no issue.

Well, the MLS is shit, and he's Kaka, and it was his debut for a brand new MLS team, and he scored.

  17. They've properly broke you huh Ian? Well it's quite hard to bother discussing things happening at Newcastle as if they were a competing sporting club. Sometimes I manage but then I remember it's all pointless. At the moment I'm still watching most of the games, just not reacting very much to what happens. Not sure about next season though, might be time to become one of those detestable people who just follows the odd bit of football.

  19. Top quality? Come on. There's not a lot to choose between him, Haidara and Dummett. Santon was given a lot of chances, but didn't make the sort of improvements that you'd want to see in a young player. RYAN TAYLOR STARTED FOR US AGAINST MANCHESTER UNITED.

Didn't see the game, but Okugo is a solid DM for MLS. Not going to blow anyone away with his passing range, but he'll do his job quietly and efficiently. Like a shit Claude Makelele.
