I don't think many people are basing this on international performances, none of them have been consistently at their best for England. Oh, well, bugger. I dunno then, cos whilst I prefer the other 2, Scholes' performances have ultimately ended in medals. I thought you might have confused English with England there...none of them have been as good for country as club. Beckham has at times, but he's always been shit at tournaments. In this case, I'm probably gonna go with Stuart Ripley.

Gerrard comfortably. Everyone is gonna sugar coat Scholes because he retired young, in reality he provided no more than Gerrard or Lampard.

Zidane is the one who was saying how he'll never apologize for headbutting the guy. I guess this is his retort.

Coy is a very polite way of putting it. I would've been 100% fine with him immediately coming out saying he wants out, spend last few years of his career in the top flight etc. But he didn't. He fucked us around with his bullshit press releases.

You act like the Bolton/Wigan stadiums have ever been anything other than half-empty.

Boo Hoo http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/124838/Fall-guy-Habib-Beye-in-Villa-Quit-threat/ HABIB Beye last night declared his aim to quit Aston Villa – barely seven months after joining them. The Senegal defender, a £2.5m buy from Newcastle, has made just five Premier League appearances for Martin O’Neill’s side. France-born Beye, 32, had previously been a first-team regular since 1998 with Strasbourg, Marseille and the Toon. But he has now fallen behind Carlos Cuellar, Richard Dunne, James Collins and Luke Young in the Carling Cup finalists’ pecking order. “Things are not going too well for me at Villa,” centre-back Beye fumed. “I have only played in 10 games in all competitions." “This is the first time in 12 years I’ve had a season like this – and it is not easy for me to put up with. I am 32, I feel in good physical shape and I don’t see myself sitting on the bench. If I can’t express myself as a footballer with Aston Villa, it will be elsewhere. I have always been important, to a greater or lesser degree, at every club where I’ve played. It is the manager’s choice. You have to respect his decisions even if you don’t accept them, as he is the sole captain of the ship.” Beye now hopes to join another Premier League club during the summer. French clubs don’t punch at the same weight as English ones when it comes to salaries,” he said. “Returning to France would be complicated for me. The wages in England are twice as high and I can’t see a French club investing that much money in a player. I’d consider an interesting challenge in France but the salary is the problem.”

Yeh i know, he only scores goals. Has he ever scored goals against quality opposition at international level? Can you list the quality opposition he actually started against please? bit hard scoring goals when you're sitting on the bench. So we highlight how effective he's been against relatively average opposition tonight coming on as a sub but can't point out he's been shite against the likes of Brazil and Portugal when he's come of the bench? Well if he scores against shit opposition, we can use him in the group stages and then sack him off for the difficult games.

He's fast! I don't think he's exactly amazing, but I imagine he could run 200m before John Terry had even noticed.
