  1. 3.5 isn't that long to be honest. Basically, if it's 1.5, the player can basically leave on a free next season, or his value would seriously drop. 2.5 is obviously an option, but even then it's a little short. Say the guy has 1 good season in the Prem, he'd have 1 year left on his contract and our position would be compromised as far as contract negotiations stand.
  2. Am more than happy. He's a striker who has shown himself to thrive in the Championship. Let's get the promotion job done before we start bidding for Leo Messi.
  3. Yeah thats her... http://www.google.com/search?q=Vanessa+Perroncel&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a
  4. WTF is happening with signing all these players. Since WHEN does this regime realise our LB is injured, and then sign one in on loan within 2 days??!? It's bordering on competent.
  5. OMG I'm giddy AGAIN. Not because Fitz Hall is any good, but because he's called One Size. MINT.
  6. I'm giddy over Victor Moses. Giddy!
  7. I didn't realise this was meaning Ambrose. I'd take him back in a flash.
  8. I guessed 37843 in the pre-match thread So you were wrong then. Edit: .. great minds obv tbh
  9. Why does everyone hate Pancrate now? I've been a little off the NUFC radar...
  10. IMO we should just get Nicky Butt on for Carroll, then have Butt take Speroni out of the game. We could take em with 10 men if they've got a random in net.
  11. Fine with me. He'll be pretty immense in this league, and decent cover in the PL. We need a winger and he'll fit in just fine for now.
  12. Simon Jordan pretty much decided he wasn't putting in money any more. Basically because of Spurs + Bostock. Not sure he'll care / he will have been fully expecting this.
  13. Na. Agreed. Maybe I'd care more if there wasn't a new ACN every 6 minutes.
  14. assuming that's supposed to answer my question, let me clarify, why is HE coming here? promising championship defender gets a move to the premier league, gets unlucky and for whatever reason doesnt get played, then signs up for more time on the bench....back in the championship, nothing about that strikes you as a bit odd? unless we're paying him big wages? nah he's guranteed first team football? nah he doesnt actually think he's that good and wants to sit on the bench? erm his only reason for coming here is just to get away from pompey? maybe http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/9633/williamson.th.jpg You're the Punisher!!
  15. He's the defender that GG cried about when he left Watford for Pompey. Result.
  16. we did, shearer was the first player on 20k a week in this country Boro were first when they signed Fabrizio Ravanelli. He had no interest in joining them but Juve had accepted their offer, he said he'd join if they paid him £40,000 per week, a wage that at that time was at least £10000 higher than anyone else was earning (even Man Utd had a £30000 p/w wage cap at that time). He knew that a club like Boro were in no position to pay any player that amount of money so he assumed that he'd never have to join them. Unfortunately for him, Boro said yes and agreed to his wages. True, we did pay Shearer a lot of money, but Ravanelli was the catalyst for the mid 90's wage boom. That's right and Juninho after that...Juninho was on massive money. In recent history I believe Chelsea took it ot another level with players on 135k a week. Insanity. Oh, I remember when they signed Mendieta after we gave up on him due to the financials... Honestly, FC Barcelona outdone in the transfer market by fucking Middlesbrough. On the plus side, Mendieta was an absolute sack of shit and sat on those astronomical wages for as long as he could manage. Dodged a bullet tbh.
  17. A lot of stuff's been on sale on the web store for a while. Unfortunately, still to much to have shipped over here. Any coming to the US soon? I doubt it, club stores don't tend to leave the cities, in some cases they don't even leave the stadium. It would be a good idea to have a store in say places like Tokyo, and such where English football is popular. I dare say you could send them across to America, a few good designs and Americans will buy the stuff despite not knowing who's it is, similar to what happend over here with the New York Yankies. I meant to say anyone, not the story. The Big Four plus a few other bigger clubs actually do have a few online stores here. All footy shirts are massively overpriced in the US. Basically in the UK the shirts get cheaper almost as soon as they're put on sale, where as every shirt I see in the States is $70. I guess there just isn't the competition, so the prices don't drop.
