christ thats poor management Rodgers is definitely not going to last the season like. E

Fair fucking play to him. Not sure how he or Willie McKay blagged their way into getting this move but it's a massive step up from QPR. Don't know why I'm saying this but best of luck to him.

If we play 4-3-3 then Simpson's weaknesses won't be as obvious as day imo. Won't? In that he won't really be doing anything of note. If our midfield 3 and attacking 3 just do their thing, then Simpson won't be as involved in the game.

Sounds like Colback was played at LB today. O'Neill's already at it then.

Would be a perfect player for 4-3-3 IMO. Spot on. Aye, was brilliant at the Euros on the left of a front 3 wasn't he? Everyone in that Dutch team was crap tbf. (Or rather underperformed).

You disappoint me.

Affelay is NUFC-bound you say? VI, I'll personally blame you if nothing happens

N'Zogbia. £10 million. Do it.

I'm not panicking as such, it's just that, for me, if we want to emulate the success of last season, then it is important that we strengthen (which the other teams around us seem to have done). Btw, if we miss out on a new RB/CB, then I would be just about content with the options we have available but I would insist that we play a 4-3-3 so that any weaknesses we do have are compensated for. Striker first, other positions second.

At the moment, our main objectives should be: securing qualification to the Europa League group stages; losing none of our key players and securing at least two new signings. Firstly, it would be a travesty if we mess up on Thursday, we should win like but I shudder at the thought of us not qualifying for the Group Stages especially when we worked so hard to get in this position in the first place. The players have to give it their full attention and the performance has to be professional. Secondly, I sincerely hope we won't be in a position come Friday where we're selling one of our top players for £20 million + with no sign of a replacement on the horizon. Btw, I really don't understand how some people deem Tiote to be an expendable asset. I, for one, would be gutted to see him leave and that's because, for me, he adds an extra bit of bite in midfield. I see him as a proper enforcer in the centre of the park and we definitely missed him on Saturday. We would definitely be losing a bit of the core of the team if we were to let him go. Finally, it is important that we sign at least two more players so that we're "properly" prepared for this season. In terms of importance, I would sign a striker before any other player. If anything were to happen to Ba/Cisse, we would be left with Shola, Sammy and Campbell - Shola is an impact player at best, Sammy and Campbell are still young so it would be probably be too much to expect them to perform straightaway. It's therefore imperative we secure a striker and do you know what, Carroll coming back wouldn't be the worst idea in the world despite my initial opinion about it all. For the right price, Carroll's return could be a decent one. (If we sign Rhodes then we can scrap the Carroll idea mind ). Signing a new RB (ie. Debuchy) is also an important thing for us to do - Simpson, as much as he's decent defensively, he doesn't really offer much in terms of attacking play. We need someone to link up with Ben Arfa down the right and Debuchy seems to be the right fit. So, the next four days, bring them on.

You would, he plays for one of the twenty one premiership clubs you support. Boom!

Going to wait until Saturday morning before I offer my proper opinion on this window. Anxious and nervous at the moment but that could very well change with a couple of additions by 11pm on Friday.

He really isn't the brightest of individuals is he?

That's a good shout but the 12 game ban could very well put Norwich (and any other club) off. Can't see it. Barton called both Hughton and Calderwood out in the worst possible terms in a training ground rant on the eve of our first game in the Championship. They rose above it, mainly because nobody would have touched Barton with a barge pole back then, but very much doubt they'll want him anywhere near Norwich. And yet Barton remained as one of Hughton's most trusted players in our first season back in the PL.

Wait until transfer deadline day. Someone is inevitably going to be a prick and bump these threads (oops )
-
I still like him to an extent too (don't know why tbh). Certainly don't hate him but it needs to be said that he's a bit of an attention seeking tool. Everything that has happened to him in the last year or so has been his own doing. Will he ever learn? Unlikely.

because its the final week of the window and the rumour mill goes insane This week is going to be rather unbearable. Urgh.

I'm pretty sure that is what Pards would do, should Douglas sign. More than likely, I have every confidence that Pardew will handle the situation in the correct manner. His man management skills are top notch.
-
If we had signed Douglas a month and a half ago then I would have been all for him starting instead of Saylor (injury/fitness reasons more than anything btw). However, now that the season has properly started and Saylor has performed well so far, dropping him now would send out the wrong message. If we do sign Douglas (and I'm all for it considering our lack of options in the back), he will have to force himself into the starting lineup imo. Unless Saylor goes through a horrible run of form, my first choice CB pairing would be Colo-Saylor.
