  1. Should have gone to the bookies. Ah well.
  2. BBC are saying that the Doyle red card (or rather second yellow) was harsh. What happened?
  3. 2-0 to Spain. Silva again. That's that for Scotland then.
  4. Well then..... EDIT: Full time, there we go!
  5. Oh I don't mean in here, just the football media in general. People love to say stuff like "England have never been technically good enough to compete with the likes of Spain" when it's a blatant misrepresentation of the facts. The commentators on BBC just now about Spain playing in Alicante - "they last played here ten years ago... and they've never lost" Lawrenson: "Well that's no surprise" - maybe it wouldn't be a surprise if they hadn't been s*** for the last 50 years before Euro 2008. Don't want to take anything away from the current team but their success at the moment has more to do with Barcelona's frighteningly good youth policy of the last ten years than Spain's general footballing culture. They've got a very long way to go to be considered up there with real giants of international football like the Brazilians, Germans and Italians imo. Completely agree with your post. It was only 3 years ago that they were tagged the "great tournament bottlers". I think it's even better that they've started winning things after Raul was no longer involved. As apparently he was always a big problem in the dressing room for Spain. Interesting, can see that being true actually.

  7. Reet, got the Spain-Scotland game on. Spain to win 3-1 tbh.
  8. I'm envisaging a lost cause for Sion tbh.
  9. Well done Derek. Wraith can go jump, a total arse of a man.
  10. Things have gone well in terms of signing players at/for the right time/moment. A few duds here and there mind and there's certainly no excuse for not signing a striker during the summer transfer window but all in all, as it says in the thread title, it's "moving in the right direction". Canny post Stu.

    Danny Guthrie

still wouldn't mind having him as a squad player, does a decent job most of the time when called on I feel the same. The lad has a decent range of passing so can do an okay job when he is needed. Though I guess for his sake, he has to move on.
