Jonas's preferred position is right winger and we play him on the left side...same with Duff but left footed player on the right side of the pitch! Lovenkrands is also a lfet footed guy but JK & CH insist to use him on at RW position. Something's not quite clicking. I know these guys are professionals and can adapt do different positions especially if they're both right/left footed. However...with all these players their preferred foot is a lot better(I'm not saying they can't shoot with the other but) and at the moment they need to cut in to get into a shooting position as they clearly tend to go for their better foot! Just think about yourselves...you have your fav playing position but you're not allowed to play there because of the coaches tactical inability so you know you cannot get the best out of yourself for the team because of your playing position. Must have some effect on playing morale as well And about the question. No doubt it's the central midfield even when the best players are available. If Barton can keep him away from personal troubles he's out injured for sure. Guthrie hasn't quite proved himself yet IMO. I think Nolan as a defensive CM is our only solid option in the central midfield atm

Not just shooting but confidence plays a major role in every area of the game! This is something which we'll need to fix ASAP but unfortunaly it won't be happening any time soon with the current management team as they clearly are not able to motivate the players not to mention any sort of ability to get even 50% out of their potential...

I really can't see why most of you are still putting R Tayor in the starting XI? He hasn't done anything to warrant him a starting spot IMO. Except the 1st game he's been pretty poor even at his speciality which is supposed to be the set-pieces(well...we've got no-one better though). We haven't seen him as full-back yet which is his prferred position but at the midfield there sure are better options available! My team for the remaining matches: Harper Beye Coloccini Bassong Enrique Nolan Jonas Duff Barton Owen Oba

Hughton is just a puppet! Trying to be mr. nice guy and not to upset anyone around him... I'm not a fan or Kinner at all and the sooner he's out the the better but he's got some character at least! Not afraid to say what he's thinking and show it by some of his actions(most of them are pretty harsh though). I really liked JK when he took Shola off before the HT in a match when he didn't perform at all and gifted the opponent an easy goal. Anyway we really should be looking at an opportunity to bring in a replacement especially now as it's practically free unlike with Keegan as JK is out of contract in the summer. And I'm not talking about Venables and co. but some of the guys from younger generation with some fresh thoughts about football and how it should be played in the modern era. You can do a decent results with worse squads if you have some of the basic tactical skills(just look at Fulham although I really dislike Hodgson's ultra defensive style) and we really do not have a bad team at all and look at the results we've been able to get! Since Sir Bobby's time our defence has improved a lot if not the whole team(except the midfield maybe) but the results have been really really poor so it's a clear indication that none of the managers since then haven't been really up to the task!

How about playing Jonas in the central role? As an attacking playmaker which we're lacking so badly since Emre? Jonas is good on the ball and very good passer and has enough creativity to unlock opponent's defences. Very strong runner with the ball as well. Something which is lacking is ability to tackle and maybe strenght could be a problem also but they are not that important for such role. He just should be told not to shoot but look for through passes instead... What do you think? At least until Joey's back(and Nacho man)

Can't really disagree about Owen and his motivation to be here... but the fact is that we're still not creating enough scoring chances for our forwards! Just think about what Owen and Oba would be doing in a team like ManU! I know they wouldn't make the starting line-up there based on the current form but they'd be lethal with such a support from the other players
