    Black Power!

I have seen nothing to suggest that he would be remotely good at full back. Yes he is a solid defender but you need more than this to play FB effectively. His control/vision/distribution isn't good enough to play there, especially in a game where we'll need to attack the opposition and take the iniative to them. Nor can I imagine him overlapping Routledge and putting a ball - something we're going to need as we'll need to try to get in behind Stoke and get them turned to expose their lack of pace at the back. Has he not filled in at RB in a game last season? I can't remember. It's not ideal, but Perch looks very vulnerable in the air and I think we need that extra protection. His ball control actually isn't that bad. He can pass quite accurately. True, he won't be a lot of help to Routledge going forward, but neither is Perch at the moment. A crucial point here is Coloccini, who doesn't win many aerial battles from the opposition's set pieces. With all those throw ins coming in, we do look vulnerable to a sucker punch. His ball control/passing is fine although it could be improved, not saying its bad, but when you're playing FB you have to have a little bit more about you than when playing CB which i don't think he has. Think Perch has done ok going forward, he's no Jose but he is always an option and as for him being poor in the air I can't see that myself, wins a lot in the air, is 6ft+ or he looks it. Its his tackling and his positional sense that has been letting him down. Wouldn't shock me if Carroll comes back to defend quite a bit when Delap is hoying them in anyway. The game could have a lot of goals in it, Stokes defence is in a shocking condition and Sorensen isn't doing so good either at the moment. Ben Arfa vs Huth and Routledge vs Danny Collins, that's gonna be interesting.

    Black Power!

You must be watching a different Williamson to me. Naa I know he's tall, but still, I would like a bigger and more physical defender like Sol to mark Kenwyne Jones.
  3. Keeping Man Utd, Aston Villa and Everton down to 11 shots is a decent record.

    Black Power!

I agree that Sol Campbell should play against Stoke, they're the tallest team in the league and Williamson and Coloccini are not exactly the most physical defenders
  5. WLWWW Maybe a draw at Upton Park, but we should win the 3 home games.
  6. Would play Krul Raylor Enrique Campbell Williamson Jonas Smith Tiote Ranger Lovenkrans Ameobi
  7. I would easily have sold the first 5 games for seven points. My guess before the season would probably have been LDDWL I just hope we don't f*** it all up again on sunday against Stoke....
  8. He was brilliant today, he's fast, strong and a has great passing skills, much better than Smith, based on today...
  9. My mate just had this made today http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/hs342.ash2/62243_477315660294_572130294_7222013_3904024_n.jpg
  10. WTF is Zlatan doing? http://video.milliyet.com.tr/Ibrahimovicin-sorunu-ne_1_43540.htm?auto=1 :kasper:
  11. Routledge can't make a decent cross... it's like watching Dennis Rommedahl...
  12. I remember reading Stig Toftings book, where he described Sam Allardyce when he was in Bolton. He said that if Bolton were behind at halftime, then Allardyce would spend the whole break yelling and screaming at the players, telling them how poor they were and everything instead of telling them what to do better

  14. Unchanged lineup, would hate it, but I think Hughton won't make any changes.

They had a fluke result against Villa but if you look at the team, by and large it’s very similar to the one that went down. “There’s been a lot of hype about Andy Carroll, I’ve watched him for two or three years in the Under 18s and the reserves and to be honest I think for top class players like Distin and Jagielka I don’t think he really is that much of a threat.”
  16. I was a Britannia watching the game today and watching Pulis come running in for the second half was tremendous considering the loss of his mother.
  17. Everton must be full of confidence after today.... can't see us winning this one...
  18. After todays performance, oh yes, but as Dave, I believe that we are better than that...
  19. Agree to the title of this thread
  20. huh? I'd rather have beat Villa 1-0 and won this one too. I'd rather have lost to Villa and beaten Blackpool
  21. The worst thing is that Hughton will probably play the same team on saturday
