  1. WTF? Jagielka hand balled right under the refs' nose and he gives nothing? What a bottling cunt of a ref this is.
  2. Can see why Wenger mentioned "Maradona" when commenting on Ben Arfa. Amazing dribbling and turn off direction.
  3. Tiote in for Smith is like we've gone from 10 men to having 12. Absolutely eats up the ground as though he's on a 5-a-side pitch.
  4. Great play by Ben Arfa. C.Ronaldo like. Nolan offside and missed the chance anyway.
  5. Au contraire, it's just the beginning of.
  6. Quoting Sir Bobby: Think something similar applies to Nolan imo. At 28, his stamina/legs are those of a 40 year old almost. If Nolan really was 36 for example, you could look at his performance/fitness levels and say "yeah, that's not bad for someone his age". Which then raises the question of why we aren't moving him on, when if his age on paper were to match his fitness/mobility levels (e.g. 35), we'd be doing carting him off to a lower league club in no time. Or so I hope anyway. Never know with this club after the Nicky Butt era.
  7. One of the most ridiculous posts I've ever read on here. Relegation > Champions League. Would that apply to Peter Risdale too? If Shepherd and Mike Ashley were to meet in the ring, it would look something like this: http://tf2.digitaljedi.com/midgetfaceslide.gif You wouldn't be able to tell them apart. [/intolerant]
  8. Now the bullshiternationals are over, it's time for some real football. Blackpool to get molested 4-0. We need to spank them hard and make sure they know they're shit, as it'll mean one relegation spot taken if we can dent their confidence as much as possible and leave them bleeding in the showers.

    Joey Barton

The thing is tho, i dont remember Joey Barton really going out that often and nailing people....There was that semi crap tackle on Alsno in our releagtion season and then he was missing for a lot of the promotion season and not visible to the prem league. Seems to just be a hate figure for his off field history rather then on field football imo. It's amusing how players like Scholes and even our very own Alan Smith get away week in week out with "honest" challenges that involve studs flying into opposition players' kneecaps at 100mph, yet as soon as Barton mistimes a tackle slightly, all hell breaks loose, with toddlers screaming, police cordening off entire sections of various cities and setting up roadblocks, the Pentagon hightening the nation's security levels, and of course referees feeling obliged to protect all innocent men, women and child watching the game from this perverse menace to society with their magical yellow and red "No Joey" cards.
  10. Only on loan please. He's looked shit since returning to Spurs, definitely a bit slower (not that he was fast in the first place). Probably had his confidence knocked a bit after he was found out for being shit at Liverpool (yes, Benitez rarely played him, but he still looked like a bog standard striker with little ability when he played for them). He's essentially a poor man's Bellamy nowadays - remove the pace, reduce the skill/ability, increase the whinging/moaning, and you have Robbie Keane. Ideally we'd go for someone with pace to complement Carroll (someone better than Lovenkrands) and stop opposition defenses from pushing up at will. Keane doesn't have that. But as we know, beggars can't be choosers...

    Steven Taylor

Taylor's a 30k per week defender at best. Williamson has looked much better in his short time here.
  14. About half the fee is because he's an England international. He's a well drilled but decidedly average footballer who'll work hard but chip in with goals and assists, and can just about mask his poor technical ability enough to not look like a mong against the top teams. I can see City's logic in buying him, they'll be getting a relatively solid player in who can cover a number of positions, has a high profile due to the alright season he's just had/getting into the national team, and he'll help fill their domestic-player quota. The fuss made over him has been ridiculous, certainly. You'd think he was the next Paul Scholes judging by some of the shit said about him, despite him showing 1/10th of the ability. At the moment, I have him down as being a very poor man's Rob Lee, although there's the possibility that he'll improve further. What annoys me about him though is that like players like Owen, he's just as devious and greedy as the French "mercs" who get regularly put down for being open about it. Just because he's a cunt in private doesn't mean he's not a cunt at all. The only difference between him and someone like Zog (who imo is still the better winger) is that Zog is ignorant enough to go through the media about his woes, whereas Milner will just put on a mask and say what the fans want to hear (or say nothing at all) whilst getting his agents to quietly stab said fans and employers in the back. On that note, what happened to all the "Milner is a proper professional, really down to earth, look he don't even have an agent, the PFA represent him, how humble is that?" stuff? This model pro image of him is bullshit. He's dumped Villa, the club that made him and is clearly willing to build around him, at the first opportunity to move sideways to a club that is offering him ridiculous wages and quite possibly after a few shit performances, a place on the bench. Down to earth my arse, he's like any other player who gets shat on for being greedy, flash the money and he'll go running. He did the same to us, requesting a transfer because he wanted higher wages (because he crossed the ball 200 times out of play or into the goalkeeper) - a year after signing a new contract with us. So not only is he overrated, but he's also a dislikeable greedy bastard with a golden boy image. It's annoying. Though I'll admit to being biased against him because of the type of footballer he is (in the Dirk Kuyt mould almost).

    Jonas Gutierrez

If we had another decent winger at the club, I'd really like to see Jonas given a go in a central midfield role - the same role Dyer had in Sir Bobby's team, or McManaman in the Madrid side some time ago. Could be pretty handy as one of those "legs in central midfield" types who'll add some mobility/pace/dribbling through the middle. Although it may well be the case that he's too thick a footballer to play that role. Would be worth a try though, especially given the slowcoaches we have penned down as being our central midfielders.
