  1. I'm unhappy. Think that although he has a bit to learn he was starting to get the club in order. I think Hughton is playing Butt as he's too scared to drop him - you wouldn't have got that with Shearer. Hughton has got lucky in that the players have pulled together and shown some spirit...he does have something to do with that but ultimately he's limited and I'm starting to worry about a lot of his decisions.
  2. Jonas travelled but was still feeling the effects of the knock on Wednesday. Personally I would have started with Ranger up front in a 4-4-2 - Butt shouldn't be anywhere near the team but Hughton keeps picking him, paticularly away from home. I mentioned that this was likely in the pre-match thread and the only thing I can think of is that Butt has some compromising picture of Hughton (possibly with Bridge's ex as that seems the current trend). Certainly at half-time, bearing in mind we had the extra man, Butt should have been subbed-off to go 4-4-2. Why did Hughton wait until the hour mark, and even then it was Smith who he subbed? An injury to Smith maybe? Another gripe of mind towards Hughton, is that at the start of the season Smith was sitting on the toes of Coloccini and Taylor, and teams couldn't get to the back four. We looked so comfortable. Now Smith is playing higher up the park and teams are just passing it around him, Nolan and Butt. Why did we change it??
  3. Think he will start. It's Jonas I'm more worried about as I think he's still carrying that knock from Wednesday. Guthrie left side just isn't the same.
  4. Swap Guthrie out for Butt and that's just about there. Guthrie back in on the left if Jonas doesn't make it. Just guessing like but I think Hughton likes to play Butt away from home...God knows why???
  5. With them on a 6 game unbeaten run and having got a good draw at Wolves yesterday, and with us being without both Taylors (let's hope Simpson makes it) I'll take a scrappy 1-0.
  6. He was definitely carrying a knock (ankle/foot) into Monday's game and I didn't expect to see him on the field, although I think this one is totally different and came about due to the freak Bednar clash. Why he was kept on after the incident I really don't know...can't have done him much good. Caulkin's article sounds correct to me, and would make more sense of the Williamson chase.
  7. Don't think he will come (not impossible but don't think it's likely). Chopra's release clause is something like 2.5 million and I think Hughton prefers other options (like Beckford).
  8. Complained of a sore knee. That's after he knew he wasn't in the starting eleven like...
  9. Not sure..think it may be tactical and we'll see him on the bench. Personally I think with Carroll upfront and a decent amount of height in the side having Ryan Taylor in just for set pieces is worth it. Maybe Hughton thinks the same?
  10. I'll go with: Harper Ryan Taylor Steven Taylor Coloccini Enrique Pancrate Smith Butt Jonas Nolan Carroll
  11. Carroll out aintr he? Yep...and with the team Hughton has picked I would go 6-1 Swansea before 6-1 us
  12. Went over on his ankle in training yesterday, but passed fit this morning.
  13. Yep - I think the back four is a given and am pretty sure about the front two. It's that final midfield place I'm not sure on...logic says Lovenkrands although Hughton's made some strange calls recently. Barton has been playing with the injury which explains a few of his performances recently. Good options for QPR providing we don't pick up any injuries/reds today.
  14. Reckon he'll start from the bench. Harper R.Taylor S.Taylor Coloccini Enrique Geremi Smith Butt Lovenkrands Nolan Carroll Harewood will start from the bench Geremi not available through illness I think. Therefore Ryan Taylor moved up to right midfield. Think he will start Carroll (passed a fitness this morning) with Ranger. That leaves Smith and Nolan in the middle with Butt vying with Lovenkrands for the final midfield spot. As it's left side I would hope Lovenkrands, but you never know with Hughton. Zurab right-back in place of Danny Simpson. Harewood probably on bench. Simpson and Jonas expected back for QPR, along with Guthrie (obviously). Barton out for a while (probably months).
  15. Shola will be out for while (months)...Jonas out too for about a month. Nicky Butt also injured. Fat Ash refusing to budge on transfers. Team will probably be something like as we've not got many options: Harper Simpson S. Taylor Colo Enrique R. Taylor Guthrie Smith Barton Ranger Nolan
  16. It's reported in the Turkish daily Sabah, this morning. However, it's juts a re-hash of the agent quotes...nothing new. http://sabah.com.tr/haber,FF802C3E4E894FBEB12AB992F5B08A31.html
  17. Shearer won't do it after what happened the last time we changed manager. In fact Shearer won't be manager with the current owner in place. I've a feeling Marcelino Garcia Toral will be here before the Hull game.
  18. Apparently as in the papers? Apparently, as in a little nudge I've had this evening from someone who should have a decent insight. I see, I seem to remember you being well informed about things actually so I'll take your work for it. Who is the bottom one btw? Can't find him on google. Real Sociedad... So have they enquired about them already or is this their shortlist? I'm led to believe enquiries have been made, particularly with Marcelino Toral who was sounded out as early as the summer. It's starting to strike me that they only ever saw KK as an Avram-type stop gap which makes this whole thing even more disgraceful.

  21. Apparently already tapped up are: Marcelino Garcia Toral Miguel Angel Lotina Juanma Lilo ..with Toral the favourite.
  22. KK could rest Viduka now we're safe. Interesting to see whether he goes for it and tries to catch them.
  23. I would sell them both and I think Keegan will too. It's a shame as both of them would fit very well into the sort of football KK wants to play, although Zog wants away and Emre, at a time when other players are fighting to be involved to help the club get away from the bottom, just doesn't seem interested. At the moment, Zog is in France and Emre is in Istanbul. Keegan will always take the line that no one is bigger that the club and he won't like that attitude. In contrast, when Duff was injured he went to most games, home and away, to support the team. I expect Keegan to big them up as much as possible and get as much for them as possible (4.2 million for Ruel Fox anone???). He'll probably want to give them both some football before season's end to try to justify an inflated fee.

    Harper or Given?

this. if given was a liner before, he's even more so now he's lost his bottle. would rather see the back of them both though Can't believe this opinion...since I was a kid we have had some really poor keepers. Given and Harper are among the best keepers we've ever had, and although Given may not be as good as he was pre-Harewood, we still have a pair of keepers most in the premiership would swap with. Personally I think that Harper is showing some decent form having had a run in the team, and it should act as a challenge to Given to try and get his place back.
