To be fair the Leazes Corner has been a bit of a flop. The old informal gathering in L7 made more noise. The singing section is part of the problem. The rest of the ground has been stripped of it’s ‘cheerleaders’. There used be little pockets of people all around the ground who’d help chants spread. Now they’re so few and far between it’s becoming a waste of time even trying. The atmosphere yesterday was really poor. No way. I've had a season ticket in both areas and there's no comparison between the 2. There's atleast double the numbers this season, it's miles ahead of the section we had in the Leazes for the last few years. I think the main problem is the Milburn/Leazes/East stands reluctance to join in with a song.

Outside the ground was cringeworthy as fuck. Hey shearer getting blasted out, people who weren't even going to the match dancing infront of cameras and that shite drum band. It got even worse when they played 'hey Shearer' in the ground. It was also another complete no-show from the rest of the ground. They can sing when they're standing outside the ground but when they're in it they sit on their hands all game. You wouldn't have guessed Shearer had come back

Have to disagree with HTT. Thought it was the best atmosphere this season, although Sunlun might have been better. Manchester fans by far the best this season, although the standard has been awful. From my seat the team seemed to have no shape, and in the second half it seemed most of the team were reluctant to join in with any attack, which resulted in a lack support. Movement seemed really poor in the final 3rd as well, too much standing around. Overall though it was encouraging, although it makes you wonder why on earth they decide to turn up for the hard games but bottle others...
