  7. Surely that starting XI would have enough to carve out some chances against Boro. I'd consider playing Taylor at RB though. you'd fucking think so.
  8. the away goal rule should be kept imo, but as already said, it should be two lots of 90, followed by pens.

aye, we need to build with what we have, slowly but surely. owen, barton, viduka, geremi, cacapa all pretty certain to be shown the door if we stay up imo, so whilst this will def free up some wages (and a shotload of them), it means we pretty much need 5 new players before we even start.
  11. except it isnt the end of, because the debate is about whether he should be allowed to play in the final, not whether it was a penalty or not. stupid f***ing debate really isn't it, he was sent off and the rules say he can't play right? so of course he shouldn't be allowed to play because if barca lose tonight they'd be within their rights to kick off with the puyol yellow that put him out of tonight's game for a challenge that i heard was not worthy of a yellow rule changes are never made mid season for good reason and we have a winner.
  12. except it isnt the end of, because the debate is about whether he should be allowed to play in the final, not whether it was a penalty or not. p.s - the debate is about a penalty in essence.
  13. except it isnt the end of, because the debate is about whether he should be allowed to play in the final, not whether it was a penalty or not. the rules state he shouldnt. end of.
  14. the spurs decision, which was very similar in that the ball clealry changed direction, went for them, this didnt. you win some you lose some. end of.

i said it earlier in the thread, i dont think it was a straight red, it was a red because it was barton, there have been far worse gone on in the past few weeks for less punishment. i reckon shearers public comments on him (whilst they wernt too revealing/harsh) are a result of the bust up after the game.

this has been put to bed far quicker than that saga was. cant see him appearing on tv and dragging it out further.

He could (and should) have played a massive part in us avoiding relegation. His idiocy has destroyed that. Shearer has every right to be fuming - particularly if the story in the Sun is right - and the club have every right to back up their manager. I wouldn't disagree with that, IF the story is true, but it's a pretty big if considering where the story is from. Discipline him by all means but trying to make an even bigger issue out of it just smacks of deflecting from the shambles we've become He's a convinient scapegoat, imo. i think the action by the club points to the story having some truth.

Anything we get for him is a bonus, because I can't see many clubs being willing to take the risk. We were supposedly his last chance, and since he came he's been in all kinds of bother on and off the pitch. As Gol says, I think we'll now look to terminate his contract. i dont think there is any doubt we'll look to terminate. pretty sure we can hold onto his registration though
