  1. as wullie said, he was at spuds beofre sam got sacked. why are we discussing his credentials?
  2. by 'looking good' you mean his new haircut, i agree. if you mean in footballing terms, i strongly disagree, he's fucking awful, cant beat a man, has no pace, cant cross. he's a fucking liability. people slate smith, but he wouldnt be the first in our team i would drop, duff would, because, like it or not, if we actualy got a decent ball into smith, he may just put it away. duff's a joke. as many have said before, the alarm bells should have gone off when chelsea were willing to let him go for pittance.
  3. i dont think anyone's slagging him, just speculating as to why on earth we dont play him (as you say, despite him looking very good)
  4. and we we're out of this cup when keegan arrived, how dare he not win it
  5. by the way, the bloke who has his team in 11th, to our 13th, has had a lot more time than our current manager, plus a full window to work in
  6. i know, 11th and 13th, ridiculous eh? i've highlighted the ones id swop for our rabble
  7. f*** off! Fat Boy in goal apart..I'd have nearly all of their first team players traded for ours. We need to rebuild the same way they did when Arnesen and Jol (and that fat French guy aswell) first came, by signing young talent and taking a gamble on young players from lower divisions. It'll take 2 years atleast to compete with teams in the top 8/9 in the Premiership. exactly. i think the only one i would swop would be that mong tainio they play in the middle for nzog, which is quite fitting really....... they are different class to us, have been for along time, we should just admit that and stop making comparisons, there arnt any. the only thing we should look at is that we are doing what they did 4 or so years ago, new board (ish), new management structure, looking at youth, ready to spend big. we can hope we will go the same way as they have in time, two top 5 finishes, europe and a cup. but with the way we bait our managers/coach's etc, i fucking doubt it
  8. difference is, with benitez and souness we were neck and neck with liverpool, we havnt been neck and neck with spuds for a couple of years, theyve been light years ahead of us. i realise they were in a lowly position when he took over, but i think we all knew it was a bit of a false positon, and still is.
  9. credit to spuds like, well done. they'll kick on after this i reckon
  10. That shouldn't matter, even if true. What he does for 90 minutes of a game is the only thing that should matter. i didnt mean twat as in a difficult person to get on with a meant a twat as in a lazy fucker in training etc, thus no deserving to play. it is very strange that even the bloke who pid £6.5m for him wouldnt play him. a bit like souey with luque
  11. aye, have to say i agree. zog emre geremi milner would be my midfield for blackburn. although im pretty certain emre is out for a few weeks
  12. im very surprised at whats happened with him, both keegan and allardyce seem unwilling to play him. must be a bit of a twat
  13. i was thinking the same thing earlier, our movement is fucking awful. i was also trying ot think of the last time damien duff beat a man and got his cross in. oba and owen up front against blackburn for me, oba should give us another dimension
  14. agreed. and for him to be kept for 14 years by many spuds gaffers, he must have something ffs T E R R Y M A C aye, because we all know what terry mac does as well.
  15. next saturday is one of the biggest games we've had in years. if there was ever a must win, its next saturday imo
  16. agreed. and for him to be kept for 14 years by many spuds gaffers, he must have something ffs
  17. amybe it isnt so daft though? im starting ot believe more and more that he was just a puppet? For Douglas Hall? Aye, he did reckon we'd be relegated that season the numpty. if not douglas the hall family. i reckon freddy just did what he was told half the time, and he was the only one thick enough to put his face to half of the shit
  18. amybe it isnt so daft though? im starting ot believe more and more that he was just a puppet?
  19. just been on a bbc one show. freddy was interviewed ' i didnt want to sack him, he was my friend, i was reluctant to do it, i felt he deserved more time'. shearer was very complimentary about him. the interviewer asked him if he found it hard dealing with new age players, to which he replied ' i loved it, i loved dealing with players, i used to say to them 'ive played for england so ive played against brazil, i know what im talking about, have you played against brazil? well shut your mouth then' class.
  20. good news. good luck chris
  21. as great as it sounds, its a hell of a lot of luck imo, for something that initially looked daft as fuck. credit where its due though!
  22. United Front While memories of the last time Kevin Keegan sent a team out at SJP against Alex Ferguson abound, we prefer to take our text for Saturday from a game we actually lost. "Thunderous and awe-inspiring" was our description of the support provided by home fans at the SJP meeting of the two United's in March 1996, some seven months before the more famous "Howay 5-0" game. A 1-0 victory thanks to Cantona's second half goal proved to be the point at which the course of the Premiership title was re-plotted from North East to North West. But the vocal encouragement that day as Newcastle attempted to batter down the defence commanded by Schmeichel lives long in the mind - and that was from a 36,500 capacity SJP. We lost, but there was a sense that we've given it our all - whether shouting and playing - and competed. We can think of other C words to describe our second half capitulation at Villa Park two weekends ago..... This latest meeting is a massive opportunity to forget about safe standing, game 39, league form, misadventures of former players, the price of gas, whatever. Focus is required - from the stands and dressing room. If you're going with a black & white heart, shout hard - after all, you did it for Allardyce's side against Arsenal in November to good effect...and you didn't even like him. And it doesn't go right, let's retain some pride and dignity and deny these b*stards the satisfaction of seeing us implode in public. Keep the faith. www.nufc.com
