  1. would like to see him here tbh.

and i dont think £2m is a bad price, i know he went for free in the summer as he was out of contract, but he isnt now so £2m is fair if you ask me

  2. Are the people wanting the club to give fat Sam money the same people urging the club to give Souness money when he was here?

no well i certainly wasnt calling for souness to get cash.

but i do think sam should get some

  3. owen, amrtins, viduka, smith and shola are better than carew (never ever scores) harewood, abgonlahor etc.

    Carew's last goal - Dec 22 v Man City

Carew so far has 4 in 15 PL games this season. Not prolific, but how much do Martins, Viduka or Owen add to Newcastle's all-round game? And how much does Carew add to ours?

N'Zog is a promising player, but better than Young? Well, that's up to him to show it, but thus far, we haven't seen it.

i cant be arsed to dig out carews total goals to games ratio for you, but im pretty sure its awful (although way better than smiths i bet!).

to be honest i cant say how much our strikers add compared to carew as i dont watch you lot/him often enough to comment.

and we have seen as much of nzogbia as young imo, to know that they are as good as each other.

just my opinion like but i see them both as wingers with loads of potential, andwe have seen flashes of class from the pair.

  4. goalkeeper.

    carson is dodgy as fuck.

i also wouldnt say their forwards are better than ours

owen, amrtins, viduka, smith and shola are better than carew (never ever scores) harewood, abgonlahor etc.

barry is a good player but i dont rate reo-coker at all.

play charlie left wing every week as well and i would put him up against young, no problems

i do think they have a better pairing at centre half though

  5. He's doing really well this season like, Villa look quality.

He struggled for a while last season though didn't he? Can't remember specifics except a long winless run, where did they finish?

    11th.

Half the season with the relegation-bound squad O'Leary left him, though. We were the last team to be beaten across all leagues at the start of the season, had a bad run in the middle, then finished with a 9 match unbeaten run.

All managers have bad runs, though.

i was going to pm you this actually.

can you see any similiarities with us and you last year? i.e did your fans have a period where they didnt like MON (maybe on the winless run?) or have you always been behind him.

i think you underwent a similar mass change to us last year (board change, coach change, player change) and i can honestly see us doing what you have this year and kicking on next season.

    thoughts?

Yes, there are definite similarities. We went through something last year very similar to what you are going through. Also don't forget the fact that, like us, you have also gone through a regime change - everything at the club will be changing this season, from top to bottom. That might not effect things on the pitch directly but nonetheless, the whole club will be in flux.

We had quite a lot of moaning, too. Don't forget, in our piss poor patch, we were flirting with relegation spots. Anyone would moan in that situation. The argument that kept coming up, though, was that we'd moaned for years that the club was a f***** up basket case under Ellis, and that nothing - nothing - was right there, so it shouldn't have been a surprise that things didn't go exactly to plan in the first year.

We also had weird tactical f*** ups, the team booed off the pitch at half time, MON's team selections which bemused everyone, but for better or worse, you just have to put your trust in the manager to get it right over time - you just have to give him that time to succeed or fail.

Get shot of him now and he can justifiably say that he didn't get time. Give him time and if he still fucks up, then get rid of him, but not before.

i was hoping your reply would read like that! O0

its heartening to know you went thorugh this s*** last year, and i am strongly of the opinion we stick with sam and ride it out.

the similarities are uncanny, dodgy selections, tactics etc.

    cheers brummie O0

One chink in that theory being that in key positons their players are better/not perpetually injured... than ours.

    such as?

  6. The whole reason we sacked Roeder was because we should have finished above those sides with the players he had. We've now got a manager who should be better than that, and he's not doing a great deal better.

....after 21 games....with 9 new players including a whole new back 4 and a new formation, are you surprised he isnt?

    Look at Man City.

in my opinion, man city were a lot further on than us as a club however before thaskin and ashley took over.

they have a solid academy, one of the best around, and foundations built on stone, not the quick sand ours are/were on.

i would bet any amount of money we have undergone more radical change than they have.

its going to take time whether we like it or not, whether its sam, allardyce, mourinho or any other manager who we get/may want.

as someone has already mentioned, this season is a right off regardless, and i for one believe we will be a much better run club at the end of the season with scouting networks, youth player intake etc.

we wers shite anyway, while we were a mess all over/thick of debt /one full time scout etc. so we may as well be shite while sam sorts all of that out and then see at the end of the season.

i think brummie's post yesterday should go a long way with what they went through last year, very similar to us and finished 11th, now everyone is licking their balls.

sacking sam now will do nowt whatsoever, and comparing us to man city wont do much either as they were a better organised club than us and have spent a hell of a lot more money (i think, im fucked if they havnt!), which they can afford to do as they have the foundations of youth and a flourishing academy, we dont.

  9.

yeah, the guy who didnt make any of his own signings and who got the bullet this season for being bollocks. thats him.

Maybe, just maybe the reason they didnt do so well this season was due to him having to use players that wernt his signings.

i think you have missed my point

  10. i hope it isnt true, we are in real danger of becoming a job no-one wants, and we could end up with someone like jol, who i realy feel would be a backward step.

more time needed for sam imo, however, if he has lost teh dressing room as some (cockney journos') suggest, then his time may be up, i guess we will soon find out in performances etc.

our dresing room doesnt seem to take to many people does it?

You mean the Jol who finished 5th in second and third seasons in the PL?

yeah, the guy who didnt make any of his own signings and who got the bullet this season for being bollocks. thats him.

to be fair i dont think he is that bad, but i do feel he would be backward step like i said.

did he achieve more than SA at spuds given the mony etc spent?

    not in my opinion.

  12. i suppose he did say a manager from the continet, so he doesnt exactly narrow it down does he! ;D

i would be disapointed to see sam leave though, i think it sends out an awful message, especially so soon, plus i do think he will get it right and improve the club from top to bottom.  crumpy is a fairly reliable source, so i have to say im a tad worried.

unless of course jose was to walk in.... :celb:

He was probably driving home tonight when he got a call on his mobile from this agant.

what a twat he is

  14. This club is a freakin' mess ...

If we've managed to drive Allardyce to wanting to quit then we have serious problems.

I'll wait to see if there's a source for this info before agreeing with you.

me to, bit i seriosly htink we're fucked if he does go.

cant see many wanting the job.

unless olivers bollocks about an agent delivering europes finest is true, which i fucking doubt
