I think the opposite tbh, sign berahino now. If we get remy on loan we'll be back here striker wise this time next season (if we stay up this season), they won't learn.
-
yep.
-
Thauvin doesnt seem to be rated and SDJ is never fit tho.. Loki is right like, we've enough in the squad to not need Townsend as a priority signing. Plenty can fill in in those roles. Doesn't look as if they're going for either or though, looks like it's townsend plus a striker, as opposed to townsend instead of a striker.
-
He's not a left winger to be fair. Then again, I'm no sure townsend is either.
-
we wouldnt be where we are if we had moyes or benitez, I'm pretty sure of that.
-
He was there when they won the title iirc.

Done. This place is superb. Will happily donate monthly.

This squad, despite its flaws, is better than the bottom three. We've spent most of the season in there. Manager not good enough. I don't hate him by any means, but the league table speaks for itself, he's out of his depth.

we should pay whatever it takes to get the quality we need. its as simple as that. Fair enough, just asking. I can't help judging transfers partly based on how much they cost. Everyone judges them on what they cost man. For example Mbemba is decent makes a few mistakes but he'll probably be a fairly decent CB in a year or 2. However if we had paid 45 Million for him everyone would be saying how ridiculous it was. Well that's what I thought, but over the last few days it seems to be more 'just get the player'. I think berhaino would improve us, I think he'd score goals for us and I think he'd give us another dimension. I also think, couple him with some of the other players we have, he could keep us in the division. Whether we pay £20m or £30m for that, I couldn't really care less at this point. I'm not sure why anyone else would either. The debate should solely be about is he good enough, not what he costs, IMO. That's a fair enough position, just the logical extension is things like Liverpool were absolutely right to buy Andy Carroll for £35m. Not that I actually want this debate, please ignore yeah, me neither.

we're after ramirez from barca, any good?
-
guardian reckons interest is coming to an end.
-
looking at ramirez from barca according to the guardian, 'ready to end townsend interest'.

Colback is s**** but plays every game. Cases in point. Gini, Sissoko, Janmaat, Perez Mitro et al seem to do OK because they're firstly good players and secondly they were given a chance to actually play. Thauvin and Cabella might never have made it but the idea that Andros Townsend - who has scored 3 league goals unless I'm very much mistaken at age 24 - is the answer is beyond ludicrous. We have an old school English manager, as we did with Pardew, who is trying to blame the horrendous first half of this season on a lack of a core of English players it would seem. Well were that true go and sign Shawcross for £25m then, I might think there was some substance to it then because it would show a commitment to the idea not just convenient signings who have fallen out with their clubs. hmm, i agree to an extent, but convenient signings who have fallen out with their clubs are all we can attract while we sit in the bottom three. shawcross would be absolutely barmy to swap stoke for us atm. Of course he would aye, but that's for him to decide. Put the money on the table for someone at the top of their game with no attitude problems or history of disruption. Of course they won't do that. The inglish thing is both partially true and a myth imo; when you sign s*** foreigners it doesn't mean you need an inglish core to succeed, it means you need a quality core. yep, agreed.

now thats scary

agreed townsend is better. he's got 2 scotland caps in nearly 4 years, any reason for that? is he always injured or something?
-
Is he actually any good? Gut instinct says he's probably pretty average.

move has broken down apparently.
