  1. I've never seen "fact" used so often to express an opinion, it's your opinion that quality invariably costs money, it can cost money but you can also get it on a free, it's your opinion that Allardyce has been set a budget yet we're being told from within the club he hasn't. None of that is fact, it's an opinion.
  2. He's now probably thinking "I wish I'd asked Woodgate about Newcastle."
  3. "He's a manager who gets the very best out of his players and I'm sure we'll see the very best of Alan Smith at Newcastle."

    Kieron Dyer

If he's got real problems then I hope it goes well for him, if he's lying then a broken leg would come in handy.

    Kieron Dyer

Dyer will be the better of those 3 if he keeps his fitness.
  6. I'm sure he didn't mean you. I'm really struggling to understand the people who are appearing to be gutted because we've spent nothing. Personally, I was pissed off when we spent money on players who left at a massive loss, we might even make a profit on a few at this rate.
  7. You're right, I can't understand people complaining because we've spent next to nothing, it's not what you spend, it's what you get and it looks like we've done a good job which isn't often said when talking about our club.
  8. I might be wrong but it seemed to be a male thing, the French females I've known were not too bad, they were huffy but not unhygienic like the lads. French males seem to think hygiene is some sort of greeting.
  9. Are they all dirty ignorant bastards or would that be too much of a generalisation?
  10. The mackems tried to sign him a while after us and they were knocked back.
  11. We couldn't sign the yank keeper.
  12. I don't suppose that it's dawned on you that he may think these players will get us to Europe then he can bring in the younger, more expensive players who will be more likely to come here with that extra incentive?
  13. What are you on about with "For 15 years we had a board who aimed high, they made mistakes, but had ambition and came closest to winning stuff that nobody else did." Are you trying to change history again or have we never won anything? Are you going to change history and say that the Halls and Shepherd didn't give us the best results and performance of the last 50 years ? oh dear. You really don't get it do you. "plan" mackems.gif The mackems had "plans" mackems.gif do you really think we could qualify for the Champions League and regularly for europe without "planning" better than most. What world do you inhabit mackems.gif mackems.gif Now. YOU have said that the old board have held us back, blah blahblah, so if we don't at least match what the old board did, what exactly does this mean ? You tell me, I'm tired of going on at you, you;re totally clueless. I eally can't be arsed trying to debate with a manic depressant.
  14. Ring samaratins and seek help, I'm sure it's free advice.
  15. Quite frankly Dave, I find it laughably ironic that numerous people have urged the Halls and Shepherd to "splash the cash" and now are backing the fact that very little is being spent. Surprised you aren't locking the thread mind .... did you have shares BTW, and if so did you sell them to Ashley ? I'm not saying I'm unhappy with the players Allardyce has bought with little money, I'm just asking for proof that this new board is going to back the manager, in view of Allardyces direct quote. If they provide it, then great. What has that got to do with anything? As for proof that they'll spend. http://www.lukewhostalking.co.uk/2007/08/a_new_chairman_a_long_term_pro.html "I think Sam and I are not that focused on the money side of things, we are just trying to bring in the right people. We are conscious we don't want to overpay, or panic buy and so we are managing our funds properly. "But we both know that we are going to have to pay decent money to bring decent players in, both in terms of what their existing clubs want for them and what the player wants in terms of wages. We are certainly willing to spend the money we have to to strengthen the squad and we are close to bringing in two or three players before the start of the season. " On the club's debt. There is thinly-veiled criticism of the former regime and it looks as if the club is in a bigger financial mess than many first thought. However, the debt problem will not impinge massively on transfer activity. "The debt was certainly higher than we thought. The clubs finances were not in as strong a position as we first thought when we arrived, but that's something we will work with over a period of time. "It obviously wasn't a positive thing to find out that the business isn't in as good a financial health as we believed.
  16. Get it over with. :sleepy1:
  17. I thought 40 was big enough is that better?
  18. Agreed except with the bit about Smith. I knew you wouldnt. I can't agree with everything you say mate or you'll have a head the size of Taylor27 Sly bastards.
  19. Exactly right, we should all be looking forward to the season, not moaning our heads off. Some people would moan if we won the league on goal difference because we hadn't done it on points, it doesn't make sense.
  20. What are you on about with "For 15 years we had a board who aimed high, they made mistakes, but had ambition and came closest to winning stuff that nobody else did." Are you trying to change history again or have we never won anything? How do you prove if this lot is more or less ambitious than the last lot? Is getting on top of the spiralling debt left behind by the last lot a sign of ambition? Is this lot coming up with a short term, medium term and long term plan a sign of ambition? If this lot qualify for the CL once will they be as good as Shepherd? If they finish second once, are they better than Shepherd? What will you see as success and a sign of ambition?
  21. I said they didn't because they didn't have Shepherd as chairman, poor bastards.
  22. or it was a reason why Roeder would not have gone for them. or is your memory really that short? Excellent, so basically you've informed us of something that we already knew, I can only guess that the Roeder comment was just something that randomly appeared. That's a first, somebody using Roeder to try and get a point across.
