I'll give him credit for the positives, I've done that with him getting Martins and I've done it with Sibierski but I think luck is involved with both of those and pointed that out. I'm not going to credit him as being even an average manager as I've seen nothing to prove that, even with all of the injuries. We've had better results when he's had to put the kids in, not always as the Birmingham game for one shows. The fact is that when he has all of his players to pick from he picks more by reputation than by form and we've had poor results because of it, not all of the time but more often than not. Anyway, Allardyce is still better than Roeder, and by a mile.

There is f*** all a club can do when a player wants to go man, surely with all your Championship Manager logic you know this. You're calling me stupid mackems.gif Its like being called a mong by a fully fledged window licker mackems.gif Im sure Dave will be warning you about abuse now, or is it just for people not in the clique You should be the last person on here trying to point out abuse.

Hows that you idiot? You're the one that gives the Manager no praise when things go well, yet blame him for everything when it goes wrong you muppet mackems.gif Read what I actually say and then try with the tripe you've written mackems.gif Logic is a totally foreign concept to some on here like. Logic isn't something you seem to know much about, you complain when somebody says one thing but you're quite happy to use the reverse argument. You absolve Roeder of any blame for the Birmingham debacle yet you name three players who had poor games, Huntingdon was terrible from the first minute to the last yet he remained on the pitch for the full game but that was no fault of Roeder, Ramage had a mare yet he was also given 90 minutes while Edgar sat on the bench, again no fault of Roeder, you can't blame him. I'll take into consideration that we played Sheffield United within 48 hours of playing in Europe then I'll remember the season we did the same thing regularly under a good manager yet came back to win almost every league game which followed those games. Roeder has made plenty of tactical mistakes, we went away to Man U and he played a formation which was never going to do anything other than get beat, we went away to Holland and most people felt we'd blown it before even kicking a ball. You ask what a manager can do about players having a nightmare, he can make sure that he doesn't carry on picking players who are having the mares, he played Huntington a few times after he'd played crap yet Edgar has disappeared from the scene after playing well. Roeder can also take players off during a game, I've already mentioned two against Birmingham who could and should have come off.
-
Roeder did make a decision, he decided to buy Martins and that has worked out well, he didn't have a decision to make regarding which of the two he should go for, Kuyt signing for Liverpool removed the need for that. Roeder spent month after month (allegedly) scouting and talking about Kuyt, Martins only started to get mentions once his team brought in 2 forwards and Martins was pushed down the pecking order, I'm sure that's when Martins asked for a transfer and we became alerted, that's my memory of it. Maybe Roeder knew Martins was going to ask for a transfer, who knows? It is possible that Emre tipped him off, we'll never know so will just have to guess.

I think by their nature Youngsters are inconsistent and erratic, the team against Birmingham was very Young and there were some nightmare performances, in particular from Ramage, Taylor and Huntington. We played Sheff Utd less than 48 hrs after playing (and beating) the team at the top of Serie A at the time and these thigs have to be taken into consideration. Its too easy and too stupid to say he's tactically inept or cant motivate the players when we lose to the s**** teams, its also fuckin stupid to not give him the credit when he deserves it. Winners dont need motivating, they want to put their lass in hospital when play fighting, we dont have enough of these. There is f*** all a Manager can do about individuals having nightmare games, he can say all the right things in the dressing room, he can tell them everything they need to know, its then down to them when they cross that white line. I cant begin to fathom out where you and people like you get your logic from. With people like you, he'll be blamed when things go wrong and its down to someone else when things go well, he cant win. Its pathetic, your own personal pride and agenda over reason Going by what you say it looks as if we've no need for a manager, we just need somebody to pick the team then its job done.

I've shown the first article that I found. I wouldn't disagree that he made the right decision, mainly because I don’t think he had a decision to make. I don't think he made any decision at all, I think Kuyt signing for Liverpool removed any need for a decision. I do think we got the better of the two, as much by luck as by judgment.
-
So when we do well against the top 4, its down to the players. When the players dont play against the bottom 4, its because Roeder cant motivate them and he's tactically inept. mackems.gif Fuckin hell, truly unbelievable. Damned if he does, damned if he doesnt. If you look hard enough for an excuse you'll always find one, no matter how fuckin ludicrous So do you think he had the players motivated when we played Birmingham at home? Were they motivated against Sheffield United at home? The list could go on and on, what do you put these performances down to? Were these players motivated against Chelsea, Man U, Liverpool and Arsenal? Had Roeder been saying that he wants players who are self-motivated?
-
To quote: but what Im glad he hasnt done is bought a body for the sake of it or took an ageing name on a last pay day. So you think Sibierski is an ageing "name" on a last pay day mackems.gif You're consistent I'll give you that, like a rabid dog chasing a stick and everytime putting your gums on the end with s*** on it Mick By August he had turned his attentions to Martins, the media were still linking us and saying we wouldnt rule out a move etc if I recall. He made the right decision for me. http://icnewcastle.icnetwork.co.uk/newcastleunited/chroniclesport/tm_method=full%26objectid=17564827%26siteid=50081-name_page.html

I was expecting to delete it, I've had about three down the pan already.
-
The players were self motivated meaning Roeder wasn't needed. When he is needed to motivate the players he fails.
-
Instead of trying to act clever (you're missing a vital organ for it for starters) why don't you just look at the facts. He was looking at a replacement for Shearer (Kuyt) and someone to partner the pacey poacher (Owen), during this time, the pacey poacher gets injured, which means he now needs pace in his team and someone to partner Shola, hence the arrival of Oba to the detriment of Kuyt. Not too many players have moved within our budget that even with the benefit of hindsight leave me gutted. Campbell would have been nice mind you, but according to Shay he wouldnt come North anyway. Kuyt was still getting scouted in mid August, Owen was injured at the World Cup, how long do things take to register with Roeder?
-
Is that what I have said? Why is it easier to to ask stupid questions than actually read what the person you are trying to debate with has written, is it in the terms and conditions I didnt read or something I think you're a bit mixed up, read your post again. You've since said that the Sky fans who go are not the ones you're on about, the ones watching now have no effect on our performances. In that case how will the team be able to perform without a crisis every other week?
-
So you think people watching on TV have an impact on how the team plays?
-
OK, I don't think you got your point across too well at the beginning. I don't have a problem with any of that.
-
This. This, but more players. So its not all doom and gloom.
-
This "Sky fans" sh*t boils my piss. Considering everyone under the age of 25 wouldn't have really been match-goers before Sky came in with the Premier League, it's bollocks. There are still a lot of fans who actually think that itsbetter to watch on the telly, and feel qualified to comment on the entire game despite only therefore seeing a part of it. THAT'S what Sky has done to the fans. Thats not what he was responding to, he was responding to the comments about those who attend being Sky fans.
-
What do you think the expectations of the fans are? My expectations are that next season will be as bad as this season, the one before and the one before that. I'm hardly putting anybody under pressure with my expectations.
-
I don't see how the continuity comment is irrelevant, its as valid as those putting the opposite view across. I don't agree that managers only get 12 months here, Keegan got longer and so did Sir Bobby. Souness got slightly longer, too long and went because he wasn't up to the job, Roeder is no better than him. The only reason managers don't get longer is because they're not good enough, we keep appointing the wrong manager. To say we need continuity with a poor manager is plain crazy, its an acceptance of shite. I agree that nobody wants the job, I don't think they want to work for Shepherd, it may be different for somebody like Allardyce if they're out of work, I do think Allardyce is much better than Roeder.
-
You need to give your head a shake if you think people are clamouring for change for the sake of it, people are clamoring for change because they don't like what is happening at our club, people don't like the direction which the club is going and want that reversed, few people think Roeder is the person to do that and its based on what they see every week, bar three. Personally, I can’t see any reason to keep Roeder if somebody better came along, I’d rather not keep Roeder for the sake of it.
-
The club does need continuity but not with the wrong manager, we could have kept Souness and had continuity but that would have done us no good at all.
-
Allardyce wouldn't top my wish list as a manager for us but put him against Roeder and its a no brainer. Everything that Bolton has done is because of him, he's built Bolton up to what they are today, Roeder had done nothing of note as a manager at any club, in reality Roeder is lucky to be employed in football at all.
-
Its the same when people say Roeder was an England coach, he wasn't, he did a bit of scouting, thats all.
-
Duff wasn't money well spent though was it? We haven't had £5 million plus his wages worth of football out of him.
