  1. I would say that Woodgate was better than Moncur but Moncur was more important to our history because of the games he played and what he won. I guess it would depend on how you came to the conclusion that one was better than the other.
  2. Glenn Roeder coached England.
  3. Mick

    Wes Brown rumour

Roeder also said that he was going to reduce the squads average age before signing Sibierski, take no notice of him, I think he must use a random comment generator.
  4. We could list all injuries because as Newcastle supporters we never hear about any.
  5. I thought it was Dixon who fouled Ginola, it looks like it was Winterburn.
  6. The ref' was shocking, Dixon kicked lumps out of Ginola yet Ginola got sent off for diving, a blind man would have seen the foul. Pretty sure Ginola got sent off for throwing the elbow at Dixon off the ball. I might be wrong but I thought he went down in the box and went for taking a dive, that's my memory of it.
  7. He had one of the weirdest corners I can ever remember seeing. The ball seemed to be heading for the far corner flag then suddenly drop.
  8. 40% are also dead, interestingly.
  9. It's the first time I've seen it, its good to see him moving on.

  11. I agree with most of that but Asprilla and Jinky were worth the admission alone when they were on fire, Ginola and Robert were the same at times, world beaters one game, missing the next. Robert produced the good over the years, Ginola was abolutely brilliant for the first half of the season, then for some reason just jacked it in. I really disliked Arsprilla and Smith though, just thinking of their disappearing acts pisses me off. Ginola was the sending off against Arsenal, he was never the same after that.

  13. I wouldn't mind the two defensive midfielders if it worked but it hasn't. We've already let in more goals than last season and we haven't had Bboumsong this year.
  14. You're right it'll not happen, we'll appoint shite and give them close to £50 million to blow. When that doesn't work we'll appoint a serial failure and hope that it'll work because we've never appointed one before, at least not one with an English accent.
  15. we have fancy under pitch and greenhouse stuff to fix that now Is there a link to that info? Lazy bastard. http://icnewcastle.icnetwork.co.uk/newcastleunited/news/tm_method=full%26objectid=16516117%26siteid=50081-name_page.html
  16. Profits can be worked out two ways. The first is did the player cost more than he was sold for? The second is that the transfer fee is spread over the period of his contract so if he costs £10 million and is on a 5 year contract we'll write off £2 million per year, if we sold him after 4 years for £3 million it would be classed as a profit, I think that's the right way to explain it but others will know better. That's why Sir Bobby said we'd made a profit on Carl Cort, it was an accounting profit.
  17. No Owen injury, no Martins isn't quite right. Michael Owen was injured at the World Cup in June 2006, here's a quote from Roeder dated May 17th 2006. http://icnewcastle.icnetwork.co.uk/newcastleunited/news/tm_method=full%26objectid=17089831%26siteid=50081-name_page.html "We will find a striker good enough, confident enough and special enough to wear the number nine shirt. "He won't be another Alan Shearer because we won't find one. "But we have to find a player who can average 20 goals a season in the Premiership, one who will be happy to wear the number nine and handle the pressure that goes with it."
  18. Beardsley, we'll never see a player like him coming out of Newcastle in a long while, if ever. Les Fredinand, he loved the club as much as we did. Ginola, scored the best goal I can ever remember seeing at Newcastle in the UEFA.
  19. The first player I ever remember not liking was Alan Foggon, I don't know why I went against him other than he wasn't very good. Des Hamilton, one of the worst footballers I've seen play for the club. I didn't like or rate Frank Clark but I was proven wrong about him after he left the club. Tommy Cassidy, I thought he was bone idle but that may have been down to the weight that he appeared to carry. Alan (Fanny) Gowling, I couldn't stand him. Justin Fashanu, he didn't last long. Mike Hooper, what a waste of money. Shaka Hislop, another waste of money. George Reilly, a crap forward but he did get stuck in, he just wasn't as good as Jack Charlton thought. I couldn't stand Geoff Nulty, ugly and as boring as hell, my best mate thought he was one of the best players at the club. Mick Harford, mackem and crap for us. Graham Oates was never a footballer so I don't know if he's even worth a mention. Billy Rafferty, jesus, he was crap. Glenn Roeder, over-rated by a lot of the press because he played at U21 for England. He spent most of his time grabbing hold of the opposition and his shuffle was embarassing. I was watching a video of when Keegan was here as a player and it's amazing how many times Roeder was nowhere near when we were letting goals in. Neil Macdonald, how the hell did we get money for him? Marcelino, I think he could have done well if he'd tried, the best game he played for us was in the Rob Lee testimonial, he took some stick but played well and showed what he was capable of, parasitic b******. Steve Caldwell for most of his time here but he deserves praise for trying to help us when we had so many injuries, even though he knew he was finished here. Bobby Shinton, wasn't a bad footballer but couldn't score which is a bad sign for a forward. Was he top scorer with 7 goals? That season when he scored those goals was probably the most boring season I've seen at Newcastle. Edit. Glenn Keeley, he scored a brilliant diving header, pity it was in his own net. I couldn't pick just 3 but I've gone for the worst 3 in bold.
  20. We've got more chance of breaking out into the Championship.
