The state of this thread man.

What do you think we've got a chance of doing? My expectations are that we are a nothing club and this is a nothing appointment which will bring us nothing but mediocrity. At this stage it looks like being a shit appointment and not a sign that we're going to try and compete for anything other than not getting relegated. Appointing McClaren means that nothing has changed and nothing is going to change and it's shit because of that. We're not a club that will push to be the best that it possibly can be, we're a club that wants to be safe and nothing more.

I can't wait for him to say "I resign" and he can say it in any lingo he likes.

You'll do the usual Ronaldo cycle, i.e. I'm not impressed but it's not as bad as you plebs are making out - it's actually great having a proper manager, unlike the last one that you all loved - he's a god amongst men and far more handsome than I ever realised actually, can't believe you lot thought the last guy would be better - OK it's gone a bit s*** but he's not half as s*** as your hero Coloccini - Right, I'm turning up outside his house to have a word unlike you cowards. Just seen this now. Absolutely nailed it. He has.
-
Are you still pretending he was crap for boro? Because your "friends" told you this. I work with a boro fan and he is the greatest manager in their history. Doesn't mean I want him but don't change history. I worked with a lass whose brother ran on the pitch and threw his season ticket at McClaren and I can only guess that he didn't do that as a sign of appreciation.

Qatar using the racism card, I'm more suspicious about them than ever.
-
If McClaren is to become our new manager I'm going to assume he'll be shite and he'll be treated that way until he proves me wrong. As far as I'm concerned he's getting into this position so he's setting himself up and that has nothing to do with me. His new bosses will deserve the brunt of the criticism but he'll also get it and will deserve it if it's justified by his actions and or our results.

Shit, another one who cares more for himself than the state of the club, disgusting.

Like Wullie my last game as a season ticket holder was when I walked out against Cardiff. I think I only went to one home game last season and that is my worst season since I started going with my uncle in the late 60'a. I only attended 2 away games because I can't support the club and I don't believe in being able to support the team and not support the regime, that is bullshit. I'd be more than happy to pay more money to watch a team try than the one we've been given, money was never an issue.

Good news, hopefully FIFA can now sort itself out.
-
I would have taken him after Pardew but now it's just a statement of more of the same. This appointment, if it comes off, tells you everything you need to know. The target for the club is still to remain in the division and nothing more.

I must admit I would rather we took a chance on Vieira than the easy boring option of McClaren.
-
Honestly, you can name unproven managers who turned out OK and I can name a lot more that didn't work out. I don't think we need to go for an unproven manager and I don't think we should.
-
As I started it, I'd take Garde, De Boer or Laudrup for a start and I think they should all be obtainable.
-
Or a Carver. Think he thought of former great players... Carver was a former great player, no player could have done better than him.
-
Vieira was a brilliant player but is unproven as a manager so I don't want him. If the club are to show some ambition they need to bring in a young proven manager who is ambitious himself and has something of a track record. I don't include McClaren who failed at Derby and was happy to stay with them in the Championship.

FFS. UEFA will be furious if that's the case. "For me, between him and Prince Ali, he was our preferred choice. Since we were awarded the 2019 women's World Cup, we have had excellent collaboration with the FIFA administration."

It looks like France voted for Blatter.

We really are a shit club.

I've also personally never had any bother with Everton fans, my son has and I've seen some of our fans at Everton who were slashes with Stanley knives, oddly enough next to Stanley Park after the game. As recently as the last away game this happened http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/kings-cross-football-hooligans-arrests-5710085 I agree most club has a bad element amongst the good fans.

Thought Charver was on a beach someplace, I'm not buying this. Do phones not work on the beach?

They didn't even have the bottle to do it face to face, cowards.
