Alkmaar won it the year before Twente, he didn't break anything up.
-
Some people rave on about him winning the League Cup and the League in Holland as if he's the 2nd coming. Most people see Dalglish and Gullitt as being shite while here, I think both would have lifted trophies if they'd faced Bolton in the finals. Didn't he take Twente from 4th to 2nd then 2nd to first? It's not as if he'd built a team, he took over a team which were near the top of a weak league anyway.
-
Appointing on merit would have made the bit in bold true but we haven't appointed a manager who was sacked by Derby on merit. And for the doubters, most people class appointing on merit as appointing the best person available, if de Boer and Garde were interested then we've failed on that score.
-
Again, were his only options to arse lick Ashley or to say "yeah f*** Ashley, amirite? f***ing mug!"?
-
I didn't want to hammer him, he set himself up as an arse licker and I'll give him stick for it. I really hope that he does well here but can't see it happening.
-
Agreed, he was the last captain to lift a trophy but so what? You don't appoint a board member because he lifted a cup 45 years ago and other then that he has nothing but arse licking on his CV.
-
Who expected him to do that and did he only have those 2 options?
-
That is disgusting. In context he was saying it was one of the things that convinced him the club were serious About pushing on. Context doesn't make it any better, he could have mentioned the interview as motivation without the other vomit inducing shite.
-
I think he'll walk if he gets the stick Pardew received.
-
This is PR bullshit and Ashley putting others in the line of fire, or so he thinks.
-
He's not daft, look where arse licking Ashley has got Moncur.
-
I don't agree, if the club was ambitious we could and would do a lot better than McClaren.
-
I've got nothing against him other than he hasn't been appointed on merit and shouldn't be here, it's not his fault we're shite and have no ambition. We'll spend some money this year but only because we have to as we need to get away from the relegation zone, a position we should have never been in.
-
Why wouldn't he be up for it? It was us or the dole, he wasn't up for it as recently as a few weeks ago. It's us or the dole so he's up for it. No.
-
Sacked by Championship Derby because he failed, signed by us, pathetic.
-
Moncur is only on the board because of his arse licking, we'll see no benefit from his inclusion, self serving is all he knows.
-
I've never swayed on this like, it's better that Carver and Stone are gone but who gives a f***. A thoroughly underwhelming appointment that will achieve the fat w*****'s aims and nowt else. If the football's a touch better then great, because I've wondered for a while why I watch it every week now. Still thoroughly disinterested compared to previously and that interest will only decrease while we voluntarily tread water, and this decision's very much part of that.
-
We just need to find out that McClaren isn't coming and it will have been a good day.

Have you got a link for where to join?

The BBC are reporting that they have found out what happened to the $10 million, including a supermarket who were paid almost $5million which was then paid back to Warner in local currency. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-latin-america-33039014

This is a really dull point. The first time, he was half way through a season where his club was chasing promotion. The second time (allegedly), he was asked to take over for the last three games of a team fighting relegation. In the first case, it's the honourable thing to say no. In the second case, you'd be mad to say yes. But yes, the situation does allow you to construct the sentence 'he turned us down twice', and yes if someone didn't know the situation, that would look bad. Well done. I'm sure you can construct an argument that he didn't.

That's what happens when you support a club that exists to exist.
