He was lazy defensively but would consistently make things happen. If he had stopped making things happen he'd have been out. There were a couple of occasions he was dropped for Bernard or Viana as a kick up the arse too and it worked. Ben Arfa was dropped and we won 5 in a row so naturally it's not as simple to just put him back in. His best stuff for us has come on the right, he's rarely played in that position for months apart from a few times when we were desperate.

I've never seen him in training so can't comment. Every fringe player doesn't almost win games and then get dropped after a single poor team performance, he was the one taken off, not every fringe player. He's had brilliant games for us yet he's dropped at the first opportunity. How would you feel if you were told to sit on your arse as work doing nowt while the equivalent of Shola got all of the good stuff? Not once but on many occasions. I'd guess you'd laugh it off at first but it would get to you.
