Pardew didn't come here from a strong position. I would think that he would have taken almost any job as he was doing nothing. That said, I don't think his wage will be as low as some think because he's had a new contract since first joining the club and was in more of a position of strength to get a better deal. The deal we think Pardew has isn't that bad as he will always get £2 million when sacked or 12 months salary, depending on what the clause is. Pardew has been here for 2 1/2 years and he's the 7th longest serving manager in the league so I doubt too many are going to worry about the clause. He's going to get more now if he leaves than he would have if he'd signed a 3 year contract when first brought in.

Any clause would be one of the last things talked about and might even be only picked up when reading the small print. I would be very surprised if it became a deal breaker.

Why not? A decent manager wouldn't be planning on getting sacked.

I watched us through that and actually had some fantastic times following the club, as usual for most of the time following Newcastle it was before and after the games.

Ashley and Llambias are really close, you shouldn't doubt that and Llambias was the first choice as Chairman until the City of London Police turned up at the club and we ended up bringing in a lawyer.

People who think Ashley will allow Pardew the opportunity to cost him £millions are living on another planet. He might personally like Pardew but I can't see him settling for us struggling above relegation when he has so much at stake financially. Ashley was quite happy to p*ss off the entire support base with his treatment of Keegan and he was happy to take the same risk with Shearer, Pardew would be much easier for him to bin.

I'm sure our results will pick up once we have replaced them.

If they are thinking of giving him a limited number of games into next season then he's got to go at the end of this one. If we give him 10 games and decide to replace him we'll be looking for another Pardew or Souness to come in. We'll be looking for managers who are our of work or are about to get the sack. The best thing the club can do it get this season over and dump him and move on.

I hope we're going to employ this new coach on a part time basis, Pardew will coach the defence for 4 days and the other 3 will get an hour each on a friday.
