Signing Debuchy and losing Ba doesn't make us stronger, we'll not even see the best of Debuchy if Williamson is playing in the centre of our defence. Debuchy is a slight upgrade on Simpson as a defender but pisses on him going forward. Like Simpson though, he'll get caught out of position as times and we'll have a hole at the back because of it. When that happens we'll be relying on Williamson to defend and that'll not go well. Debuchy, Cabaye and Ben Arfa on our right side should be brilliant if we can replace Williamson with a competent defender and replace Ba.

If he's here and playing out wide he can come back inside if Cisse is injured, if he goes we're relying on a donkey, even if only as cover.

The silver lining is that we'll get to see more of Stroller.

We didn't try hard enough then did we, and at this time it's cost the club potentially £7,500,000 in prize money. Also, the loss of not bringing in the two players we required will probably have a knock on effect and make it even more difficuilt to bring in the type of player that we want. It's easier to bring somebody into a team who have just finished 5th than it is to bring players into a 15th placed team.

I doubt anybody thinks Ashley is " trying to f*** up the club's chances of being successful." Having said that what he tries to do and what he actually does is two different things and like it or not, he's played his part in taking us backwards this season. What do you class as being "quite successful"? Why does it concern you if the club is more valuable for him to sell or not?

We needed to replace the same 2 defenders in the last window as we do now, Williamson and Simpson. On top of that we lost 2 forwards who made 43 appearances between them. We've brought in Anita who has replaced Guthrie and a few kids who replaced other kids that the club let go.

Football is a squad game, we've got an extra competition to play in this season over last and we're numerically down, we had 5 leave and 4 come in. We’ve probably saved a shit load of money in that same window.
