Woodman looks like he's a good keeper.
  2. I agree with most of that but I wouldn't read too much into Debuchy slipping while playing for France, that can happen to any player during any game. He was comfortable enough when playing right-back and his slip came while playing on the right side of midfield.
  3. What do you think are his strengths and weaknesses are?
  4. We know what we get with Debuchy, we don't even know who is our 2nd choice.
  5. Tell me Jonas didn't cover his arse or that he was better than any of the players I've mentioned and I'll think again. I've said he was better than expected and he did play a part, he wasn't "one of the main reasons we had such a good start." We were lucky that most of our back-up players did better than expected, I wouldn't want to have to rely on them too much in the coming season.
  6. It's miles away from being the truth, Jonas covered his arse and we had quite a few more important players than Ryan Taylor who to be fair was better than expected most of the time. Better players early in the season were Krul, Coloccini, Jonas, Ba, Cabaye, Steve Taylor, Tiote, possibly Best.
  7. That could be handy for some, we're on again this Friday.

Is it any more naive than thinking that we only have to agree a fee?

The clubs involved have to agree a fee before we speak to them (the players).
  12. http://www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/sport/joey-barton-in-shock-move-to-fleetwood-1-4767098#.UA2K-i0bc14.twitter Published on Monday 23 July 2012 18:25 JOEY BARTON, one of the most controversial characters in football, is to train with Fleetwood Town. In a sensational move which will rock football, ambitious Fleetwood have received permission from Queens Park Rangers for him to train with the Highbury club. And there is a chance of loan move from QPR to Fleetwood, possibly until January, though manager Micky Mellon refused to comment on this. Barton will join up with his Fleetwood on Thursday, prior to travelling to Scotland when he will spend a week with the Town squad. Barton is friends with a number of players in the Fleetwood squad and when the player suggested that he would be prepared to train with Town, Mellon moved in quickly and made official contact with Rangers. After incidents on the final day of last season Barton was banned for 12 matches after being found guilty of two counts of violent conduct. Barton, 29, was sent off in QPR’s defeat at Manchester City on the final day of the season and accepted a charge over his clash with Sergio Aguero in the wake of his red card. He was also found guilty over a separate clash with City’s Vincent Kompany. FULL SENSATIONAL STORY - SEE TOMORROW’S GAZETTE
  13. Unlikely when he probably has to sit to take a piss anyway.
  14. No, we only have £5, £10, £20 and £50 notes.
  15. Good, I'm sure he'll be here before the season kicks off.
  16. Its being reported that he hasn't returned to training on Saturday.
  17. I know I was complaining about our football for most of the season, and I know we were better when we changed to 4-3-3. What I'm saying in here now is that we should be looking to keep Ba and that shouldn't mean reverting to 4-4-2 if we have our forwards switching play during a game. We don't have to have a rigid system and I was also saying that for most of the season.
  18. He played well throughout the season with a few games where he didn't perform, a bit like every other player last season apart from cisse who wasn't here for the full season.
  19. I thought Ba mainly played well on the left, the main difference was bad luck and he was having shots in the 2nd half of the season which were going in during the 1st half. I didn't see much of a decrease in his performances, just his goals tally. I watched a prolific goal scorer in the first half of the season who proved in the 2nd half of the season that he can offer more than just goals.
  20. I didn't say that "many" were saying it wouldn't be a problem. Also Ba had as good a first half of the season as Cisse had a 2nd half so why is losing Ba less of a problem? Ba has a record which is close to a goal every other game for us, he didn't do that by luck, I would say that it was bad luck that kept his record lower than it deserved to be.
  21. I can only guess that the people who think Ba going wouldn't be a problem don't actually go to games and think he must have been shite because he wasn't scoring.
