Didn't Lindisfarne play before the game at the Leazes? One of the funniest things was when Steve Walsh scored and we started singing his name to the Andy Cole song.
  3. Jonas is an excellent player and I would guess that the players around him appreciate him more than we do because he gives everything he's got in nearly every match. I don't think we have another player at the club who puts as much effort in during a game. He helps out going forward and defending and he'll also go central to help out. I'd be surprised if any of our players win us as many free kicks than him and most of them are justified because he puts his body between the opposition and the ball and he makes them foul him.

That game is in my top 3 for best atmospheres during a game, it was the perfect end to a perfect season, I miss being able to stand.
  5. How does he spread himself without sticking his arms out? Also when you come out you have less time to react and that's why you can only give the attacker less to aim at and it will work more often than not. I'm not looking forward to seeing Harper get much game time because he's past it and too slow, that doesn't mean he'll always be to blame if we let a goal in and tonight he wasn't.
  6. Try and watch the goal again, he had no choice but to come off his line.
  7. If he stays on his line then the winger has an easier target as he has more to aim at, he came out and narrowed the angle and in so doing gave the winger less to aim at, he hit his shot well. How would staying on his line give him a much better chance of saving it?
  8. He did make the goal difficuilt, he stayed on his feet and made the goal as small as possible by spreading his arms. He was beaten by a very well placed shot.
  9. He did nothing wrong for the goal tonight.

  12. Look at me, I can say Youtube, pathetic.
  13. Has anybody said "Ben Arfa and Jonas get the same"? I said that "The biggest groan yesterday was for Ben Arfa giving the ball away" and it was.
  14. You must have been editing when I replied because I did see additional text and thought that I'd pressed quote twice so deleted it without reading it first.
  15. The biggest groan yesterday was for Ben Arfa giving the ball away, I don't like it and I didn't like the whistling before the final whistle either but Obertan isn't singled out.
  16. Simpson gets stick for goals against that others don't. If the ball had come in from the left and Simpson was where Santon was it would still be Simpson at fault.
  17. Did anybody boo him? I didn't hear it so it couldn't have been much if they did.
  18. Who is to blame for the supporters being on his back? He did one good thing yesterday when he ran back and put everything into the run which ended up with him putting the Spurs player off and us winning possession. The next time he gets the ball he's running away from our goal, he does something good then seems to not know what to do next and he loses the ball. Nobody was on his back, he just couldn't handle the situation and that's down to him. He can run at a player with pace when he doesn't have the ball, once he has the ball it's as if the only thing between his lugs is a void. One minute I was on my feet applauding him, the next minute I was just thinking what the hell is he doing.

I thought the same, they both played well but we missed something without Coloccini who gives us a bit more confidence and stability when defending as a unit. I don’t know what it was but some of our defending seemed to be a bit more rushed yesterday, Coloccini being in the defence adds calmness which we didn’t have.
  20. I was over the moon to see Ben Arfa stepping up to take the penalty because it’s a pressure situation and I doubt Ben Arfa would ever consider missing one so he’s already half way to scoring. I doubt any of our players has more self-confidence than Ben Arfa.
