The teams we'll be challenging this season will not be on a par with last season though so we will need to be better than we were to stand still.

If Hazard is a better player now it's because he has players around him who are doing more to make him look good than ours are doing to make Ben Arfa look good.

I would have thought that his clearances off the line were a fairly good measure of both and he's quite good at those.

I agree with all of that.

I agree with that, if we are to score from a Simpson cross it's going to be by something other than a header as his crosses rarely are hit with pace.

He's not a bad defender but I guarantee that if we get him he'll get caught out of position in the way Simpson does and nothing will be said. Where he’ll upgrade Simpson will be his quality when he puts a cross in and he looks more comfortable on the ball.

I know I can't often make this claim but so far this season he's our only player with an assist from open play and he was putting in crosses against Chelsea that nobody got on the end of, or at least nothing came from them. I'd have Debuchy in a heartbeat as I think he'll upgrade what we've got. I just don't think Simpson is as bad as made out, he can defend and has offered more this season going forward than normal, maybe he can learn and move his game on.

It would be later in the season if he was to suffer from too many games. He's just played twice in less than 48 hours and to add another couple of games in less than 70 hours would be madness. Players do need time between games to prevent fatigue and I think that was showing yesterday because he was nowhere near as sharp as he should have been.

We'll risk burning him out if we play him too often too early.

Sunday looks perfect for him and us as a team, Villa look as if they are going to struggle this season.

I'd play the same team as last week except for leaving Cisse and Anita out, our bench should be much stronger.

Anita isn't an upgrade on Guthrie yet, he probably will be when he settles in but at this time I think Guthrie would have fit in better and he proved that last season when played.
