  1. Match receipts went up £1.5 million the season we signed Owen, that was mainly, if not totally down to playing 3 games more than the season before. Sponsorship went up by £100,000 at a time when we had those extra games and TV money was down £6 million. Branded product sales which will include replica shirt sales was down £400,000.

    Fraser Forster

As if Harper is going to move now.

    Fraser Forster

Harper is currently quite a bit ahead of the youger two keepers and he's proven that this season when he's come back in. Forster and Krul should be better at the start of next season but it might be too soon for them to walk into the team and perform every week at this level. It might be worth bringing Forster back as number 2 and send Krul out for a full season to get more games. The season after next is probably the time when they become our first choice keepers.
  4. I was expecting somethiing about us since he left when I read the thread title.
  5. The accounts says insurance and other compensations, it doesn't say where it came from so me saying that it was from the FA could be wrong. All income is shown in the accounts. http://img64.imageshack.us/img64/7140/owencompensationaccount.jpg
  6. I've just checked the accounts, we received £6.7 million from the FA for Owen.
  7. I've commented (added an edit) on the compensation which wasn't £13 million and the compensation was to cover his wages. We received a one off payment from the FA.
  8. £17,000,000 transfer fee and over £110,000 a week will work out at almost £40,000,000 and our reward was 26 league goals. I'm not sure how many points his goals were worth but we could have done a lot better for that outlay. Edit. That £40,000,000 will be lower because we received compensation after his injury while playing for England.
  9. Cordone looked like he could have turned out to be a class player in his first few games, I didn't think Bassedas was that bad either and Luque never recovered from his thigh injury.
  10. He wasn't shit, he had no bottle and missed games for any reason he could come up with.
  11. Mavis was terrible, wasn't one of his nicknames Rambo? Shinton was a tidy little player, he just couldn't score goals for us. I wouldn't know where to start trying to pick a worst player that I've seen play for Newcastle.
  12. He's not the worst player that I've seen at Newcastle, I don't know who is though.
  13. We've had a lot worse than Smith http://cdn.bleacherreport.net/images_root/slides/photos/000/423/579/1222731_display_image.jpg?1286010653 He wasn't a bad player, he just didn't give a shit and had no self respect.
  14. How do you measure effectiveness? This season they have one goal each, Duff has 1 assist while Jonas has 2.

    Shefki Kuqi

I've just had a quick check, he scored against Fenerbahce and I'd forgotten about that one, I only remembered him getting 1 in Europe but you're right about him getting 4.

    Shefki Kuqi

He played a part in 26 games in which we averaged less than a goal a game in which time he scored 3 goals, 1 a very good goal in Europe. He tried but was limited, his commitment can't be questioned.

I'd love to see him do time.

    Harry Redknapp

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-11837240 Tottenham's Harry Redknapp faces tax evasion trial The charges relate to Harry Redknapp's time as manager of Portsmouth Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp is to face trial charged with two counts of tax evasion relating to his time as manager of Portsmouth. Mr Redknapp was charged in 2010 with ex-Portsmouth chairman Milan Mandaric. It is alleged two payments totalling US $295,000 were made by Mr Mandaric to Mr Redknapp via a Monaco bank account. Mr Redknapp and Mr Mandaric will stand trial in July at Southwark Crown Court. Ex-chief executive Peter Storrie will also be tried on unconnected charges. He will face a separate trial alongside Mr Mandaric charged with tax evasion in May. 'Payment for midfielder' All three have denied the charges, which followed a three-year police and customs probe into the club's affairs. Mr Redknapp is charged with two counts of cheating the public revenue of an estimated £40,000. Mr Mandaric (left) and Mr Storrie will stand trial together in May The charges concerned two payments, totalling US $295,000 (£191,000), alleged to have been made from Mr Mandaric to Mr Redknapp via a bank account in Monaco, evading National Insurance contributions. Mr Mandaric is charged with tax evasion relating to the payment. Mr Storrie, of Hayling Island, Hampshire, is charged with concealing a signing-on fee for ex-Portsmouth player Amdy Faye by paying it into the midfielder's bank account. Mr Redknapp was arrested at his home in the exclusive Sandbanks area of Poole, Dorset, in November 2007. In May 2008, he and his wife Sandra launched a court challenge against the arrest and a search of their house. They were awarded £1,000 damages against City of London Police, after the High Court ruled the search was unlawful.
