Roeder did get the best out of him, he was at his best when we finished 7th under Roeder. It was the season after, again with Roeder, when we had Duff that he went backwards and he played fewer games and produced less. Even under Allardyce and Keegan he was better than Duff ever was and still only scored 2 less than he did in his best season and he played less games.

Especially when combined they cost less than £5.5 milllion and brought in almost three times that.

A medical usually costs between £3000 and £8000 but that depends on the players past medical history.

He was better than Duff and his statistics back that up, he had a better goals per game ratio and he had a better assist rate per game ratio. That's hardly overrating him, they both played a few games out of position so it's not as if one set of stat's would be more suited to one or the other.

If Duff had just stood still the ball would have bounced to safety, it wouldn't have got to the Villa player behind him. Whether he meant it or not doesn't matter he put the ball into our net, I have no idea what he thought he was doing.

Butt and Owen had already been mentioned so my input on that wasn't needed. To say that N'Zognia is the most overrated player of the last decade is pathetic when people only rate him higher than Duff.

Duff deflected the ball into his own net, it was going nowhere until he strolled out of defence and feebly flicked his leg out which sent the ball into the corner of the net.

Like I said, he was poorly managed. He had an excellent first season when he was arguably our best player and he was rewarded by us spending a third of our transfer budget on Duff who was never coming in to cover for N'Zogbia. I think he would have been brilliant under Shearer and I think we would have stayed up but we'll never know for sure.

He's was poorly managed while here, I'm not surprised that he went in a huff at times.
