  1. He only made these comments straight after the Chelsea game so it was the same person probably answering the same questions while being influenced by the same things, whatever they were.
  2. I thought I'd answered that earlier in the thread, because he wanted to take pressure off the players next season and also because we'd just lost to Chelsea, at a guess.
  3. Him wanting 5th next season is anything but negative.
  4. It might be bordering on blind faith but I see people reading comments and predicting the outcome during transfer talks, I think that is crazy. If Souness can bring players to the club then Keegan can regardless of what he says after playing Chelsea, what he's said will be forgotten by most fans in a week or two, players will forget it even sooner.
  5. He said he thinks we can finish 5th next season, let's see what he then says if we do it.
  6. I don't know what Spurs tell potential signings but it hasn't done them much good in the past. Ok they've recently got one over us twice but they've failed just as many times in the past. As for your last question, I'd choose Newcastle over any other club but I can't claim that I'm not slightly looking through rose tinted specs. I hate London anyway, it’s a s*** hole
  7. You're right, I don't think that.
  8. Sorry but I would see 5th any time in the next 3 years a being very positive and that is the target Keegan has set himself for next season.
  9. I don't see how the comments have put the club in a bad light, we'll go out next season to do our best in every competition and I don't think we'll lose a single possible incoming transfer because of what Keegan has said.
  10. I think he was trying to reduce expectations any by doing so take pressure off the players next season, I also think he felt that we were put to the sword by a very good team who we will need to challenge in future if we're ever going to win something.
  11. Maybe you don't believe it for a second but we've been struggling in the past and still signed players who have improved us, the fact that Keegan has been a realist will not change how we do in future.
  12. I think he'll tell the fans what he has and tell the potential signings that he'll be challenging for Europe, something which he clearly feels we can achieve as he's said that he's going to challenge for 5th place which will be our highest finish for years.
  13. I doubt any player will read or listen to what Keegan has said and decide to go elsewhere for that reason.
  14. Just go with the flow and knee-jerk.
  15. You've just bumped it.
  16. Don't worry, it'll be ignored anyway.
  17. Bernard signed for us twice, he was still our player when he was loaned out and I can't remember him ever playing for us before going to Darlington. I'm sure we still held his registration when Roeder tried to nick him so he was still our player so his second stint was after Rangers. I'm not taking that one lightly.
  18. everyone except the cretins who came on places like this and said he was a decent player. probably the same arseholes who said Barton and Viduka were "class". I can only think of 2 people on here but they don't seem to want to talk about him now for some reason.
  19. Shearer gave away his testimonial money.
  20. He didn't play in his 2nd stint.
  21. f****** amen. What left-backs have there been in my/Kev's/Jonny Hall's age? Beresford maybe? Robbie Elliott, Babayaro, Aaron Hughes, erm Stuart Pearce? Bernard ftw - he was mint. Also, those who were slating my for putting Dyer in my team... who else should i put in there? Lee, Batty, Jenas, Acuna, Parker, Emre, Amdy Faye? I'm not putting Nicky Butt in there, no chance. Dyer was a good player; changed our season last year. Right-back?
  22. Shit result, we wanted to win for Newcastle, nobody else.
  23. Bellamy also visited him in hospital most days after training.
