  1. Agreed, but to do that so early is crazy.
  2. It's just as important that we get value for money, outspending others is no good if you've got somebody like Souness doing the spending, I trust Keegan to get it right more than I would trust most others, it's not just spending, it's getting value for money and his track-record here is second to none.
  3. That should be his name.
  4. I don't see why anybody needs to cherry pick, the last time he was here as manager he saved us from relegation in his first season, got promoted, finished 3rd, finished 6th and finished 2nd. Yes he spent money, Man U, Liverpool and Arsenal weren't starting off from such a poor position, they would have had to spend as much to do what he did, most would have had to spend more due to his record in the transfer market.
  5. I thought the attendance for Lee was around 23,000.
  6. He'll be happy with me then because I went to see it, Marcelino getting boo'd , he actually looked like he could do a job in that game.
  7. The dreadful run of games was on the cards before Keegan arrived and he's tried to bring players in so to mark him down for failing to bring somebody in considering the time he had is a little hard on Keegan. Why not wait until he's had the summer to bring in players then judge him. He's only been here a couple of months; nobody would have changed things drastically in that time. Keegan has a track-record here which is second to none, he deserves the time you think was rightly given to David Moyes at Everton, at least.
  8. We've had plenty of managers who have recently taken plunges and created problems, at least Keegan will react, unlike Souness, Roeder and Allardyce.
  9. We'll win this game 3 or 4-1, I think we'll go at them from the first minute to the last.
  10. I can't vote in this one as I first thought Rob Lee, he was probably the best for the money paid. I could have also gone for all of the others on the list for one reason or another, I just hope we have a few more names this time next year.
  11. This is his third time at the club, the second was better than the first. Keegan has a very good record with Newcastle United so why should we be worried this time?
  12. Agreed, Keven Keegan owes this club nothing, no matter what happens this time.
  13. Allardyce was a tactician and that did us no good and as I said earlier in another thread, I saw more tactics from Keegan last night than I have in all of the games under Allardyce.
  14. A part of my reaction to the Keegan appointment was a sentimental reaction and I'll not apologise for that, why should I? I lived down your way when he first arrived as a player, I'd been travelling all over watching us both home and away. The signing of Keegan the player was brilliant, we signed the England Captain, although he didn't keep that title for long. I still followed the team both home and away but everything changed with that signing. We always had a good following, no matter what some may try to tell you. I was at games where we had as many fans as the home team, especially at Huddersfield the day we got promoted. We had a full end behind the goal and we had fans in every end of the ground, that wasn't unusual either, it was more the norm. I probably had my best couple of years as a fan because of my age and the fact that I was single, my income had one use and that was to follow Newcastle and everything that went with it. Getting pissed before the match then stopping off again afterwards to get pissed again, it was probably the happiest time of my life. When Keegan came back as manager we were struggling badly but Keegan once again lifted the doom and gloom, this time he was supported financially and he did take us on a rollercoaster ride. It didn't start off well in the first part season but he showed enough to make me think that he could do a job for us again, I couldn't have dreamt that things would reach the sustained heights that they did. I can't put into words what it was like to follow Newcastle and Keegan’s team, something I doubt we'll see again but if it's going to happen then Keegan has as good a chance as any to bring those times back. I really think that Newcastle and Kevin Keegan are special together. If I'm proven wrong this time and he fails then it will not take away what he's done here twice. Some of the stick that he's had from some of our fans is nothing short of disgusting, some people need to get a grip of reality. Keegan doesn’t owe this football club a thing and no matter what happens this time around, he’s deserved another chance. Like Sir Bobby, he’ll have done more for us than we’ve done for him. If Keegan does half as well as last time then we’ll be better after he left than we were before he came. I think Keegan can do a good job here because he wants his team to play football the way the fans want it played, if he can reproduce his record at bringing in the same quality of players then he’s got a good chance of doing well again and as long as he‘s here he‘ll have my support. What fans of other clubs think is totally irrelevant as far as I'm concerned, I hope Keegan proves them wrong, again.
  15. Keegan made more changes to our formation last night than I can remember us doing for a long time, it wasn't just a case of throwing 11 players onto the pitch and hoping that something would happen, we actually used various tactics until something worked then we put Birmingham under a lot of pressure. For me, last night was the best we've been this season tactically which was a surprise considering we have a manager who is supposed to be tactically naive.
  16. I honestly didn't expect him to drop both Smith and Duff, he does deserve a
  17. You're amazing, from one picture you can tell that she said "If you multiply it by 2,000,000 it will look this big."
  18. We lost to Blackburn so got no confidence from the game, we'll win on Saturday because Fulham are worse than we are, we're playing at home and we've got the confidence of our 2nd half and the point we picked up.
  19. He took the goal very well and had no right to get to the ball before the defenders, I thought he had a good game and got involved a lot more than usual.
  20. He had a good game tonight, he needs to do that every game now.
  21. In the first half we were too worried about getting beaten to try and win it, the second half was more relaxed, the second half performance and point gained tonight will change the way we approach the Fulham game.
