He's probably looking to pair Huntelaar up with Kuyt bluebiggrin.gif

Yes, but realistically no chance. Telling us we're interested in players we have no hope of signing ranks just behind telling us where we'd be in the league if we played ChampMan with Owen fit. Still, it fills the paper up nicely. Christus lacrimosus :jesus:

Another load of wind and piss from Oliver

I think the worst part of the deal is the fact that Kerry Katona will be the official mascot for the club. blueyes.gif She looks like she's been eating too much of their food too

Haven't read through the thread so apologies if covered elsewhere. Personally I'd say our greatest priority is a proven striker as we don't seem to able to score more than one goal at a time in the premiership home or away. Our existing strikers bar Owen are really support strikers I think. This puts huge pressure on our defence not to concede if we want to win (or draw away), and our defence isn't good enough to shut out the opposition. I've been wondering how much of our problems in defence are totally down to the CBs. Obviously our CBs aren't good enough but the full backs are woeful and need replacing desperately imo. Are the CBs out of position because they're covering for Baba or Fathead? Also it seems from what I read that the midfield sometimes doesn't provide enough protection for the defence. I therefore wonder whether the order of priority should be: a) striker b) full backs c) defensive midfielder d) CB We probably won't be able to find all the players in Jan we want, and we can't replace half the team and expect to improve overnight (see Portsmouth last season). I suspect that Roeder (if he's still in charge) may go for striker, left back and CB in Jan. I reckon he'll make do and mend in the midfield and right back positions till the summer. If someone like Shaun Wright-Phillips became available (wishful thinking I know), I think he'd sell Milner and keep Nobby. As already stated, the difficulty is attracting anybody decent given our league position. What do people think?

huh.gif i'd think we'd get 2-5 mil for solano, 4-7 for emre and the same for luque. no where near 35 million total. Maybe he means a further £10m from selling the 3 players on top of the original £25m?

Those who doubt his ability can check his goal vs. Galatasaray. THAT goal. Great goal. However, I also remember this: http://img489.imageshack.us/img489/7969/petercrouchsoke4ndasidofr7.jpg Which wasn't so good. 'Kin hell. Looks like the result of a botched bio-engineering experiment

He'll fit right in. Is he too ugly to count as a trophy signing? bluebiggrin.gif

Plenty of height.....we could play all 3 in a 4-3-3 formation, with Titus bombarding the penalty area !!! hardly! Neither of them can head a ball properly. Forgot this bluebiggrin.gif

I heard Owen might be returning to Liverpool as part of the deal. Actually, I just made that up :winking:

Beanpole-tastic! Titus will be pleased......

Please be a joke. Chopra for me. I wasn't going to mention, what with the tie and all.....

Voted Chops. Incidentally, is your monkey wearing a SAFC tie?

To be fair Marcelino's main medical compliment was the removal of guts when he joined us. I suspect Baba may have got the same thing.....

it is. theres no need for him to play. So, Shola's picking the team now is he? Shola's the one who decided he didn't need an operation in the summer? Shola's the one who didn't sign a striker who can play with his back to goal while spunking money on a left-winger we didn't need in the last transfer window is he? Clueless, even for you tbh why does everyone think he is being forced to play? if he cant improve the team with his presence, then he should say "im injured, i cant play" then he wouldnt get picked. it works for babayaro, who isnt injured half as bad as shola, so why cant shola say it? I haven't said that have I? Regardless, the person picking the team, along with the medical staff, should be making the decisions on this. Shola's actually going above and beyond the call of duty imo and he must be being asked to play. Incidentally, given he could barely move against man City, do you think Roeder was right leaving him on for nearly an hour, or is that Shola's responsibility too? I'm pleased you mention Babayaro though as his commitment is nonexistent. Players usually want to play (unless they're spineless treatment table lurkers). As he faces a lengthy lay off, Shola will want to play given the chance. You can't expect him to say no, he wants to play football. But if he's injured he shouldn't be given the chance imo, simple as that. Sod what Shola wants.

It's nice they're being positive. Let's hope the performance matches the talk

Did Real look after him in his latter years? Serious question....a lot of these old time stars die in poverty.

Or.....Freddy gives semen out for shirts?

Nope, it's not VAT. We might conjecture in the absence of any evidence it's an *ahem * agent's fee
