I don't have a problem with the club trying to get players for as cheaply as possible either, I prefer it. What I do have a problem with is that we look as if we're a couple of players short of staying up and we're haggling over a player who looks good enough to make a difference to our season. We're not only looking to save on a signing, we're risking our premiership status for the season after this one. The more this story makes the headlines the greater the chance of another club looking at what is going on and going for the player. The fact we are playing hardball makes me think we have got such a strict predetermined financial structure that we will lose out on most of our major targets for the sake of taking a little bit of a chance to get the players Houghton wants instead of dithering and ending up with Leon Best quality players ,utter madness and probably a relegation battle ,if we get him and he does well more than likely he is sold on for a profit meaning good financial sense and i know every transfer is a gamble but this lad has masses of talent and worth sticking a few more quid on .

After all this i hope we get him and if we dont its another talent we have missed with dithering about a few quid or our total lack of operating in a football enviroment .

here is the latest fr The journal United are understood to have had an initial loan bid turned down and the addition of Benfica and Hoffenheim to the race for his signature has complicated matters. There has been no further contact with the Ligue 1 side since the initial offer. Hughton, who has played a straight bat to most transfer rumours to avoid being drawn into bidding wars, said there was no update on the club’s pursuit of the player, who was called up for senior France duty last week. “We do realise it’s being banded around but there has been no progress,” he said.
  6. I used too work in the city centre and i popped into fenwicks on most morning breaks and always sad hello to him and chatted about the toon ,lovely bloke and the last time i saw him alive he was siting on the no 32 bus at fawdon terminus and i asked what you doing up here and he said "just riding the bus to keep warm son" .
  7. Could not agree more ,experience, calming influence and been there seen it and done it

  11. It's certainly in our interests to sign Cleverley, for those kinds of reasons. But Gosling isn't out for the season, and so I wonder whether Cleverley and Man U may now have better options ie somewhere he's needed more. Natural pessimist me, though. Know what you are saying but with injuries like Goslings there will be a easing in period too so Cleverley should get nigh on 3/4 of the season ahead of him. Plus they are different players and Cleverley will offer a lot more in attacking situations from what i have seen which is what we need more. I can see Cleverley getting well over 30 appearances which is exactly what Fergie will want for him. Dont see any problem with this idea as its win-win for everyone. http://www.sundaysun.co.uk/sport/newcastle-utd/2010/07/25/nufc-in-four-way-fight-for-young-tom-cleverley-79310-26924469/ Might be speculation on the Sun's part, but they're saying that Ferguson is asking for assurances that Cleverley will feature regularly in the first team, which is fair enough, and that may cause us to lose out. Which would be a shame. Tbh I've got my doubts about Routledge having an impact in the Premiership, despite his playing a big part in the final promotion push. Playing with two out and out wingers is also a bit risky at this level, for us. I know we're probably only talking about a one season loan, but I'd really try and find room for Cleverley. But here is the stumbling block this bit innit But Newcastle boss Chris Hughton is considering other options while chewing over Red Devils’ counterpart Sir Alex Ferguson’s insistence that Cleverley be guaranteed a regular starting place this season.
  12. Hope this is a chance for him to get well and tbh coming back up here is temptation to go on the drink with people he knows who dont really want to help him but just along for the ride
  13. the younger generation probably dont care that much but watch the official history of N.U.F.C and that gives you the reason its special
  14. Finished 47th on here and 230,021 overall and must say pretty chuffed with that considering missed 2 big games for team selection when i forgot to make subs and aged 47 this is my first dream team

  16. The Norwegian birds are nice too maybe we could go over on the ferry and you could organise a jolly up with loads of chicks @ a party laid on for us but no blokes but us
  17. 50 points today and 7 players i can bring in for tomorrow 3 germans and 4 spaniards that means 20 points dropped potentially so i will have 9 players on the pitch from both teams.
  18. He would be a great signing if true a workaholic and scores too
  19. That team will get you relegated tbh too young
