  5. Random observation but Liverpool fans had a big part in this too didnt they The Heysel Stadium Disaster occurred when a wall collapsed under the pressure of escaping fans in the Heysel Stadium in Brussels, as a result of rioting before the start of the 1985 European Cup Final. 39 people died, 32 of them Juventus fans, and 600 were injured. Approximately one hour before the Liverpool-Juventus final was due to kick off, a large group of Liverpool fans breached a fence separating them from rival Juventus fans. The Juventus fans ran back and away from the threat into a concrete retaining wall. Fans already seated near the wall were crushed; eventually the wall collapsed. Many people climbed over to safety, but many others died or were badly injured. The game was played despite the disaster in order to prevent further violence. The tragedy resulted in all English football clubs being placed under an indefinite ban by UEFA from all European competitions (lifted in 1990-91), with Liverpool being excluded for an additional year and a number of Liverpool fans prosecuted for manslaughter. The disaster was later described as "the darkest hour in the history of the UEFA competitions."[ R.I.P those innocent fans
  6. Tbh there are so many people to blame for this disaster its hard to know where to start and only the evidence provided can be used to scrutinise the facts and we were not there and can only comment on our thoughts,I was at Hillsborough in the early 80's with the toon at the start of the season on a really hot day and after the game all the toon fans left the stand and tryed to leave the ground only to find the entrances to our stand all still locked and no where to go so the fans UNAWARE of the resulting chaos at the area behind the stand UNKNOWINGLY kept coming out and tbh i was 16 and scared shitless and the police at the time were in a panic aswell ,i and many others were being crushed by volume of numbers coming behind us and i dont blame them because they didnt know what was happening so to say Liverpool F.C should condemn there own fans is highly insensitive when as i said earlier the police and Sheff Wed at the time should have had a better control of the situation .
  7. I thought our build up to the goals and the goals themselves were to notch yesterday but imho we were a bit slack at the back on a few occasions and with better finishing Blackpool could have gave us a closer game .
  8. I was in level 7 yesterday and must admit the atmosphere was quiet till about 20 mins in then it was hiliraious there after especially the Blackpool fan dressed as a clown who got constant barracking with " pedo whats the score " etc and :colo: song ,it was a great afternoon out but for my stinking hangover.
  9. My message to the players and staff @ St james park is simply thank you for giving us our pride back

    I miss Mourinho

Deliberate? I thought the quaresma was after Mourinho left?
  12. There is no way of knowing why it came about. its the crowd needing the good guy and the bad guy going on assumptions. BTW Carrol would be the bad guy by the by those who think he is the good guy if his current form was s***. If taylor had've been playing he'd be the good guy to a lot of those who currently are calling him the bad guy. vice versa etc. Also this assumption that Taylor got slapped about because of a broken jaw is BS. And probably annoys Taylor and Carroll who I reckon wishes there were no bones broken, and it was just an in house punch up that settled any tension that had been going on. Again for all we know Taylor could have been kicking the crap out of Carrol and Carrol caught him. But the broken jaw gave an imagined narrative. Imaginations are running riot, yet we know f***ing nowt. I agree with you we know nowt but hey its a football forum and its great too speculate
  13. More often than not, Carroll's fist. Fucke me, this forum is going to kill me Choose your words carefully dear boy
  14. Probable a confidence thing tbh and suited to playing with Loverpants than Best , he had a good game yesterday and deserved that goal as he never gave up and showed a hunger that he was lacking previously .

  16. http://img251.imageshack.us/img251/2088/th1163201029shearersafc.jpg Newcastle legend Shearer in Sunderland shirt - the photo they all wanted Published Date: 16 March 2010 It's a time for putting charity before dignity – but sporting a Black Cats' strip was a step too far for Magpie hero Alan Shearer. The Geordie star refused to wear a Sunderland AFC top to raise money for Sport Relief. The former Newcastle United captain appeared on television on the BBC's One Show last night, where he was asked by presenter Adrian Chiles to take part in the "Shirt of Hurt" campaign for Sport Relief. Chiles had himself donned a Wolverhampton shirt, the sworn enemy of his favoured West Bromich Albion, for the national fund-raiser. But for Shearer, the thought of wearing red and white stripes was too much. "I would rather give you a lot of money than put that on. My life wouldn't be worth living if I went back to Newcastle after putting that on," he said.

    Danny Guthrie

This is what we wanted to hear NEWCASTLE United boss Chris Hughton believes Danny Guthrie will go from strength to strength in his new central midfield role – as he backed him to maintain his newly-discovered goal threat. Since moving into the centre and disrupting Kevin Nolan and Alan Smith’s grip on the midfield engine room, Guthrie has been a revelation, adding creativity to an area that has been solid if unspectacular this season. Nolan and Smith were the first-choice central pairing for most of the early part of the season but after injuries forced a re-think on Hughton’s part, Guthrie flourished in the rout of Barnsley. Indeed, he has played a pivotal part in United’s more fluent, attacking performances at home since the turn of the year – his creativity helping Hughton’s men notch some impressive results. The 22-year-old is playing his best football in black and white since signing from Liverpool and scored twice in the defeat of the Tykes to take his tally to five this season. It is a contribution that has not gone unnoticed by Hughton, who will again hand Guthrie a central role in the absence of Smith for the trip to Middlesbrough on Saturday. “Danny Guthrie is a very good footballer and has done very well lately,” Hughton said. “He can play anywhere across the midfield but he is playing particularly well at the moment and he is still developing. I believe he has plenty of improvement still in him – he was brought here because of his abilities on the ball.
  20. I'm sure the Portsmouth fans thought that every owner they've had this season would automatically pay the bills but they haven't. I'm grateful that our owner has paid our bills and that we'll hopefully be in the top league next season because without him this season we would be unlikely to be in the position that we are. That doesn't change what he's done wrong in the past and it doesn't make any mistake any easier, it just makes our future look a little bit brighter. You could rightly point out that he's part of the reason why we are in this division, that doesn't change where we are now and where we look to be heading. Like I've already said we can only hope to change the future, not the past. I agree whats in the past has been done and hopefully lessons have been learnt and this time next season and the same scenario of bringing in average players and loan signings with us in a relegation battle we can probably say same old story lied too again, back too the game what a great result and everyone coming too form for the final push .
