Been watching the toon from the early 70's and must say i never expected much as i was a kid and just loved going to the match with mates and seeing us beat the top clubs at the time over the years was an achievement ,so many downs but not many ups until KK came back and everything changed .Have seen a lot of shit players in my time and some of the best dare i say world class and with sir John Hall taking over and giving us something to believe in i thought we had turned the corner but no we quickly let it slip with managers who just didnt work out and sir Bobby saved the day then it went tits up when we were so close to being serious challengers .Now we have to start again from scratch going into the unknown with the same hopes and fears ,so to say the worst time as a supporter i say yes cos the the thing is happening again uncertainty .

Thought this article deserved its own thread as there has been so much discussion on the Nigerians reputation . NVM set to buy club from Ashley NVM set to buy club from Ashley * Send to friend * Print * RSS Feed 'Newcastle takeover fraudulent' The CEO of Pamodzi Marketing, Mike Itemuagbor, fears the Nigerian consortium behind the proposed Newcastle takeover could be a massive scam. Pamodzi have a vested interest in the much-publicised bid as they are the marketers for the Nigerian Football Federation. Itemuagbor is therefore concerned that a failed bid by NVA management could have an adverse effect on Nigeria's global image. NVA is backed by a number of as yet unnamed Nigerian businessman and reportedly has links to investors in China and America with the group hoping to complete their takeover of the English Premier League outfit by the weekend. A spokesman for the group, leading English-based agent Chris Nathaniel, confirmed that they hoped they could soon make an announcement about a possible deal. "All I can say is that we have made contact with Newcastle," Nathaniel told Sky Sports News. Yet Itemuagbor is highly suspicious of the NVA's imminent acquisition of the Tyneside club. He told The Vanguard: "Who are these oil barons that they are talking about? Who is the man fronting for them? Is there truth in the stories they are feeding us with? Why are they reluctant to name the so called oil barons?" With Nigeria's reputation for corruption, Pamodzi face a difficult challenge in marketing football in the country. Itemuagbor is sceptical of NVA's motives and believes that the so-called takeover has all the hallmarks of 'advanced fraud'. "The business of marketing sports is an uphill task in Africa especially in Nigeria where sponsorship is not in our culture," he explained. It will be more difficult if they begin to cast credibility posers on our shores. I say this because everything about this bid by Nigerians to buy Newcastle has fraudulent tendencies. They said that they have raised 350m pounds and now looking for 50m to 100m pounds to meet Mike Ashley's price. We know how fraud happens here. "They will now contact people to contribute and be part owners. They will push out flowery things that can deceive many minds and before you know it, they would have made so much money and would still not buy Newcastle because I doubt if they have raised the 350m that they are boasting to have gathered. We know how these people operate. "I fear it is a clear case of 419 (Advance Fee Fraud). If it is not, let them name those involved and let us know their antecedents. We have credibility problem here because it will affect our drive in seeking sponsorship for our events. That's why I'm interested. It is for our national interest that we are asking questions about these Nigerians. I fear that fraud is in the air and people should be warned." Newcastle have lurched from crisis to crisis in recent seasons and have struggled in the Premier League this term. Current owner Mike Ashley faces an untenable situation as the notoriously fickle Toon fans turned against him after he sacked club icon Kevin Keegan as manager. The Nigerian consortium have curried favour with the Newcastle faithful and promised to re-appoint Keegan should their takeover be successful, but it is probably in the Toon's best interest to heed Itemuagbor's warning.

Will always give KK a THIRD CHANCE as imho his job was untenable under the current regime but tbh i am now angry that he did leave due to the position we are now in and i would have given him a lot more respect if he had stayed and told us he had not been backed and supported from above .This man gave me and the rest of us who can remember the most pleasure and pride in our team both as a player and manager and i will never forget that .

The sound of a barrel bottom being scraped. I think we've lifted up the barrel and are chipping away at the soil underneath Just used you as an example nothing personal but whats everyone got against Venables even if only short term ?

May bring him into some other role at the club and appoint a different manager Director of Football ftw pardon my ignorance, but what does ftw stand for? While we are on whats a M.I.L.F. jokes aside its so important that this doesnt end up another disaster as i do not think we can take anymore heartache like the last few months .Getting the right owner in now with financial clout and a sound business plan who backs the manager and doesnt interfere is wishful thinking and i hope this isnt another false dawn .

The total lack of communication to the media and fans alike is a true indication of the bunker mentality we now have and the unprofessional attitude employed ,the press office will be hugely embarressed by this if we actually have one and this creates more pressure for Cashley and his goons from the tabloids .

[glow=red,2,300][/glow] These are the reasons for my annoyance . 1.Bleeding obvious he didnt come here to fail and to putting money into the club i would like to see it spent on quality players not balancing the books . 2.Bleeding obvious his hearts in the right place but "maybe he didnt show it in the right way " what the fuck does that mean at least tell us please Peter. 3."Spent a huge amount of money making us a force ,first by clearing debts and then for transfers " well Peter we had no activity in the first transfer window and the second was a selling spree with one £10 million plus and a few undisclosed . It is the general lack of knowledge on the subject that bugs me and maybe it was a waste of time him being interviewed

Maybe Beardsley doesn't understand why Keegan walked out of the club again, why should he says he does if he doesnt? Surely he's better off saying what he thinks rather than what you want him to say. This is really going nowhere i am sick of explaining myself .

Some how the fact that he has cancer and not much time left god help him is enough to keep him occupied and you may mean well but step back and think about what you typed .

Yes in this case because of the comedy element and the geordies need to laugh right now or we will cry. mackems.gif

Shocked and stunned someone agreeing with me while i get attacked from all sides and this is my point he plays safe every f***ing interview sitting on the fence and it boils my piss,i know he is telling it as he sees it but for crying out load thats why i called this thread DELUDED FOOL but maybe it should have been Peter Beardsly backs Ashley YOUR THOUGHTS and see what replys i get and i bet they would be different to what i have received previously . I think you are quite right but I wanted to see what others thought before I replied. Apart from the word "fool", I don;t like calling him that because he seems a nice bloke, but disloyal to his former boss and a bit of a yes man is more appropriate, in my opinion. Fool maybe a bit harsh but im so pissed off atm and i thought the bloke cared more than this. Surely, regardless of your views on Ashley and Beardsley, the first 2 lines from the 3 lines of Beardsley quotes in the OP are impossible for anyone to disagree with? Only Beardsleys comments in the final line could surely split opinion and they aren't exactly worthy of such an extreme response. Its my response to Beardsley sitting on the fence whenever he is questioned about the toon over the last few years that have pissed me off ,i guess a build up of all this that sent me over the edge .
