  1. Feel sorry for the fans as they have no chance now except in a couple of games in the cups realistically , will probably hit season ticket sales etc with fans being slapped like that because of crooked owners. The only message this sends out to directors is you can cause as much damage as you like and the club will take the punishment. Yes these people can walk away when the damage is done and leave the clubs in the shit .
  2. Thats them well and truly fucked then. 10/07/2008 23:00 Luton Town Furious With 30-Point Deduction Luton Town director Stephen Browne has hit out at the Football League after the club were handed a further 20 point penalty. * »Comments (1) * Print This Story * Send To A Friend * Contact Us The Hatters had already been penalised for illegal payments to third parties during several player transfers, an issue former manager Mike Newell had brought to the public’s attention in 2006. Having fallen into administration towards the end of last season, the club were also set to be handed a ten point deduction when the season begins in August. However, Town’s new owners, LTFC2020, have failed to agree a Company Voluntary Arrangement, which is a security procedure to offer parties a level of protection against the creditors to whom they owe money. As such, the Football League have decided to apply a heavier punishment to the club, meaning the side will begin their League One season on minus-30, increasing the likelihood that they will suffer relegation for a second successive season. "It's quite clear that we have made a mistake. We placed our faith in the footballing authorities. We have tried to do everything openly and honestly,” Browne’s official statement read on the club’s website. "Obviously the very clear message from both the FA and Football League is that doing such a thing is a total waste of time. "Once again, the club suffers from the mismanagement of the past. Once again the faithful supporters are left high and dry. Once again a policy of honesty is not at all recognised by the football authorities who claim they want to clean up the game.” Though the club were also forced to sign away their rights to an appeal, Browne insists the club will do what they can to fight the additional punishment. Crime And Pun ishment "The Football League have decided to dictate what should be paid for the football club as it now appears that they are the only people who can set a purchase price for a football club,” he added. "It's a gun to our heads because we also have to forego our right of appeal or else we will not be allowed to stay in professional league football. "We have already discussed this internally and we have decided unanimously that we will continue the fight by sticking to our principles of openness and honesty. The Luton case echoes that of Leeds United’s, with the Yorkshire-club handed a 15 point punishment having also failed to agree a CVA with their creditors. In that case, The Whites’ chairman Ken Bates took his appeal to an independent arbitration but the club’s claims were refuted, leaving the side on minus-15 when the season began.
  3. Here is another rent o quote from the toon KK will guide NUFC back to the top: Harper Jul 10 2008 by Lee Ryder, Evening Chronicle Steve Harper NEWCASTLE United goalkeeper Steve Harper feels that the Magpies can make steady progress in the coming season under the guidance of Kevin Keegan. The Toon boss has been working his players hard – albeit a depleted squad due to injuries and players yet to return from World Cup duty – during the first week of pre-season training. Harper has been one of them and the battle for the No 1 jersey got under way again this week, with Republic of Ireland stopper Shay Given now fit again after groin problems last term. Yet Harper – who has played Champions League football for Newcastle – is fully focused on making a major improvement on last season’s 12th place finish. He said today: “Realistically we are looking at the top eight but hopefully it can be the top six. “We finished 12th last year. “And we’ve got to get back into the top half of the table. “It won’t happen overnight. “We have to first look to get back in the top six at some stage and then build year on year.” Harper is by far Newcastle’s longest serving player and, like Given, is now entitled to a testimonial at St James’s Park. The last two seasons have resulted in Harper making almost a half-century of appearances due to injuries to Given, although some of Harper’s performances would arguably have had him in the side on merit. The Easington-born keeper is the only survivor from Keegan’s first stint in charge at the club after Special K signed him from Seaham Red Star in 1993. During his time at United Harper has enjoyed several loan stints including time out at Huddersfield, Hartlepool and Bradford City. Speaking on working with KK in his second spell as manager, Harper added: “He has made a massive impact. “We couldn’t have been any lower when he came in. “He’s lit the place up. “We just hope he receives the backing to bring in the players to get us into the top half of the league.” Meanwhile, the Chronicle understands that Birmingham City are yet to receive a concrete bid for ex-Arsenal young gun Seb Larsson, a player with whom Newcastle have been linked The Championship side are thought to be determined to hold on to the Swedish international. Sources at St Andrews say Newcastle would have to make a bid in excess of £4.5m to have any chance of landing the Euro 2008 star.

  10. Magpies offered ‘Beast of Seville’ Jun 28 2008 by Mark Douglas, The Journal Julio Baptista OFFERED bit different the trying to sign him ,got to love The Sun . NEWCASTLE United have been offered Real Madrid attacking midfielder Julio Baptista as they continue their efforts to make a breakthrough in the transfer market. The 26-year-old Brazilian has been deemed surplus to requirements at the Bernabeu after losing his place last season, and Newcastle are among a clutch of English clubs who have been alerted to his availability. With Joey Barton’s future still far from certain the club are on the look out for midfield reinforcements, and Baptista certainly boasts a CV to match any of the players they realistically will be able to tempt to St James’s Park. United can expect plenty of competition if they do decide to take up their interest, with Baptista already offered to Tottenham – who turned down the chance to take him to White Hart Lane – and Blackburn, who are interested but would struggle to cover the cost of his personal terms. The player’s representatives are also looking for a new club in Italy, with Roma and Fiorentina among the interested parties in Serie A. Newcastle’s link to any deal comes in the form of technical director Jeff Vetere, who has maintained links with Real from his time working for the club as a scout. And while United’s manager is yet to sanction a move for the man once dubbed ‘the beast of Seville’, he is understood to be a credible target as they look to add quality to a perilously thin squad. When Keegan set out his criteria for new signings at the end of the season he pinpointed Premier League experience as one of the key requirements – and Baptista has that from the season he spent on loan at Arsenal. Baptista enjoyed mixed fortunes in North London, failing to earn himself a regular place in the Gunnners team and eventually returned to Madrid. But despite some teething troubles in England, he showed signs that he was beginning to adapt to the Premier League by the end of his short spell at Arsenal – and still managed to score ten goals in 35 games for the Gunners.

  12. Simply cannot afford to renew this season got money going out all over the place like many people so will have to save damn hard for the season after ,Ashley imho is going to get a big shock .
  13. biggs

    Have you renewed?

Same here. This was a tough decision but I can't justify that sort of money, besides which me Dad had a major stroke in March and he's now wheelchair bound so he's knackered. I thought long abd hard about renewing my ticket but as I've been going with me Dad for years I felt it wouldn't be the same. Reluctantly I've decided to let it slip. Hope your dads going to be ok ,if you feel like that give it a season break and start going again cos the force is strong
  14. So if we take your advice nobodys worth a punt then and we will just sit on the fence and let players pass us bye ,remember Keegan bought Ginola when nobody really knew much about him and he was generally great for us ,no i cannot agree with you on this point imho and many others he is worth the risk .Every player we sign could turn out shit but if Keegan and co want them i will have the confidence that they will turn out good signings for us .

    Chamakh

From the same wiki article "He is a tall target man and has many assists but also can score when he gets the chance. He is very agressive and is still just 24 and is one for the future. Chamakh is under contract with Bordeaux and they will play in the champions league next season. Newcastle are said to be tracking him as they search for a Alan Smith type player. Skysports, Ewood, Newcastle And Bordeaux have confirmed talks are ongoing but nothing has been confirmed. That must mean he wont score any goals then
  16. His performances in the Euros have put him out of our reach we all must admit that ,if he had a average or poor tournament there would not be the interest from the top clubs and he may have been easier to sign and still worth taking a chance on but now its too late and i think we know that .
  17. Does this really deserve a thread of its own .
  18. Remember he is playing under the golden Guus. He made many Australian and South Korean players look like world beaters whon have since gone on to nothing much at all at club level. Maybe we should be salivating over the fat dutchman instead. Yes but his performances for Zenit have been pretty good too .
  19. Got information that Morts coming back for a year roundabout november time thats why Llambias is M.D.
  20. this, totally and utterly any business CAN fold, but we wouldn't. Mort was talkig utter bollocks. never mentioned mort, talking from financial facts - we were on an unsustainable path...you'll never see the reality of that 'cause ashley bailed us out Just been talking to a lady who has day to day dealings with the club and she was saying we were running the club under fat fred like a private company when it was a P.L.C and that is not sustainable hence all the debt which Ashley had to deal with and the dodgy deals coming out of the woodwork I.E Freds pals using executive boxes at a far cheaper price than anyone not in business with them . shoot me down if you want but she has no reason to tell porkys as she got on ok with fred too on a business level but a tosser of a bloke as a person .
  21. The reason we dont find out anything from Anal Oliver is he gets told fuck all at the club anymore as its pretty obvious his Mole or insider as he likes to call him was fat fred .
