    Kevin Keegan

Does he have a reps for being a WUM? Has been txted through to your fun..... tel us something?
  2. R.E: Egos It could have the opposite affect and and make those with the big ego's realise it is a big club and wants a big manager. I'd understand if you were talking about Mourinho or Lippi but not so much with Deschamps etc

    Nailed on Mourinho?

I can't always fully participate in my threads because I have work to do, and I take a great deal of pride in always meeting my targets. Footie comes second because work pays for footie! There's an answer!

    Nailed on Mourinho?

Title should change to camacho thread TBH. Might stir abit of convo.
  5. Aye it is a quality publication. According to wiki "It's one of the most reputable sports publications in Europe, mostly because of their photographic reports and accurate statistics" Someone obviously agrees with you.
  6. That would really confirm for me that he is interested in the job or their would be absolutely no reason for them to "come back to me".
  7. Sounds like they are "suggesting" it could be a problem more than anything. Probably because of the Man City thing in the summer. Right now we are holding our hopes on threads of information, ridiculas betting odds and poor non stop coverage from SSN. I urge people to calm down. All we can be sure of is that Mort and Co are identifing possible european candidates such as the likes of Deschamps and Houllier. This for me means they are going down the correct sort of chanells. Even if the Deschamps stuff was a tad premature they will be well aware of him now and hopefully having a look at the same sort of stuff we have been.
  8. Get the best side ever to be in Serie B promoted. Juve's ground (s*** hole) & average home crowds (very low) do not make it pressurised environment to play football in. Pressure in terms of expectation is what i was talking about. Juventus will have no doubt wanted him to get them back into their top flight at the first time of asking, that is no mean feat, especially with a point deduction. Fair enough if there was a club to do it with you would pick Juventus but there are a vast amount of managers that would not have done it.
  9. Deschamps eh? Mort wants: Stylish football- As manager of Monaco and Juventus he provided good flowing football, assuming he would do that here it's a tick. Youth side of the club- I haven't a clue about his youth policies but he is french Language- Not only english but spanish, italian and french too Big club, big pressure- Juve is a bigger club than us and the expectation when he took over was massive. Took monaco to the champions league final, which means he has experianced managerial pressure as well as big game pressure. What other positives are there? He's young and is already moderately successful (medal wise) He's arogant/ ethical enough to walk out on two massive clubs He has some knowledge on english football because of his season here He has european experiance manager wise He has a varied knowledge on european players (contacts)
  10. Playing devils advocate................................ is Houlliers footballing style what we are looking for?
  11. A little birdy told me that the only reason Redknapp was approached first is due to the fact he has a clause in his contract which allows him to discuss terms with a club without having to get permission from Pompy. It was made clear to him he was one of a number of candidates but when he turned around and told Mort he wanted to commute too and from the south daily he was told in no uncertain terms to f*** off. This sounds more realistic than any of the tripe being touted in the media.
  12. I'd like to point out that we aren't aiming for what we used to be. When Keegan was here last time we were after title, therefore the expectation (position wise) will be far less. Right now we are looking for UEFA cup football and upwards, something which i believed to be absolutely realistic should Keegan be rehired as manager (something i'm not particularly in support of).
  13. I must say i was impressed by Graham Forrester who was just on SSN. Talked alot of sense.
  14. I might be naive but i've never seen Fergi as a "this is how i want us to play" kind of manager. I think he has a huge emphasis on attacking football sure but no specific type. Back in the day he use the abilty of Giggs and Beckham on the wings to whip the ball in (not too dis-similar to keegan), now however he's got dribblers in his side Ronaldo, Nani etc. I don't think it's a intended choice. I believe he just buys players he knows to be good and plays them in a way that will suit them. IF Keegan returned, i see absolutely no reason why he would NEED to change his style. Attacking is always going to be more benifical to Newcastle United.
  15. I have to be honest, hearing Bez talk certainly re-kindle a few memories.
  16. Probably just made up, as seems to be the fashion. It sure looked like Keegan. Haha
  17. Like i mentioned earlier, i'd sooner have someone like John carver alongside Shearer. I think Shearers inexperiance would be a risk, although not a massive one. The risk would be further shortened by having someone like Carver by his side. He knows the assitant managers role, has been alongside SBR for a long time and is someone that Shearer and the fans know and trust somewhat. He also knows the club and i imagine would have a fair idea of what the fans want. Shearer may see Keegan as more of a threat than a mentor, which would not be good for the club.
  18. SSN are doing about us every 10mins. Their really isn't alot else going on today.
  19. Suggests noone has a clue who the new man will be. I'll take a stab in the dark and say it will be Hughes though.
  20. I would rather he didn't become our new manager. However, i would be in favour of him assisting Shearer. On the other hand after all said and done i'd take Keegan as manger over the likes of Hughes, Redknapp, Coppell anyday of the week.
  21. I'd be up for a Shearer with an experianced man alongside him. For me it would be John Carver for various reasons.
  22. STM

    Mark Hughes

I have a horrible feeling it will be Hughes or someone just as average.
