You've completely switched the conversation. Yes it's a fire sale from us. A fire sale of a good prospect. That's all it is. My argument stands: Just because any given club likes the look of a player doesn't mean said player is going to be a star, nor does it mean they won't be. It's an educated guess. Presumably DCL would be an amazing signing, since we are interested in him and all scouts are correct? Can't have it both ways.

And more critically, if people are interested in taking Miggy, they aren't interested right NOW. Which is the crucial part. This is likely because any club with a brain knows that we are willing sellers and will wait until they can get the price down later in the window.

Neither of which are clearly interested in signing him otherwise they are being gazumped by the mighty Everton. It's also interesting that the same people who trust Dortmunds scouts, have no interest in trusting our scouts. Or perhaps, some are just picking and choosing for arguements sake.

He's younger, has better fitness record (albeit not great) and if Howe can reignite his previous form, a very good striker and an able deputy to DCL. There's no world where we should be keeping Callum Wilson.

If we could get 10/12m and DCL that would be a good deal. Means we've strengthened our forward area and given ourselves scope to sign more players. Of course I live in a world where DCL isn't the devil incarnate and Minteh isn't the messiah.

It's not even July and we've signed a player. I'd have killed for this shit 5/6 years ago. I've said before, wait until the second week in July.

So what we've done there is likely ask for an upfront payment for a long term agreement. This might have been a last minute move, in order to get some funds in and avoid any FFP punishment.

I'd be shocked if we don't get offers for Murphy. He's such a steady PL player. I'm not saying I want him to leave or that he can't contribute for us next season. I just think he'd be a really useful signing for a clutch of bottom half clubs. The problem is that because he's valuable as a squad player, some of the clubs interested might not reach our valuation financially. He's not good enough to have a huge price tag but he's sufficiently good enough that we will want a decent fee.
