Im not sure what drugs you are on with that Spurs team. We would get well beaten with Krafth, Lascelles and Murphy in the same back 4. Besides which, Howe isnt going to treat the Spurs game any differently than he would otherwise.

In that case im resting him in what I think is the easier game. I understand some might see the league cup as the least important but I doubt Howe will see it like that.

Id suggest he cant play every game we have. Do we rest him in the league cup or the game after? Im not saying you are wrong, just to choose your poison. If we could guarantee to be leading every game by the 60th minute mark, we could rest him for half an hour every game but thats easier said than done.

Id be swapping Tonali for Bruno to give him a rest and bringing Joelinton back in for Ramsey because I think the big fella will have a point to prove. A win would set us up nicely for Spurs and we would have a few more options for that game too.
