  1. That's just a lack of imagination on my part with the strikers. This is where we need our scouting department to know where to look. If we can find a 21/22 year with some experience but plenty of room for growth around the 30m mark, that's where we should go. Joao Pedro really was that deal. If we can get someone like that to dovetail with Isak, I think we are in business.
  2. Spot on. I made a long post at the start of the year along the lines of "there's always 2 of the big six in crisis". You can absolutely rely on one or two imploding, simply because 2 of the teams can't be in the top 4, therefore by extention are deemed to be failing (Spurs can get away with a couple of top 6 finishes). This year its crisis city centre for Man United, Chelsea (until late), last year it was Liverpool, Chelsea and Spurs for parts of the season. You'd put good money on Liverpool dropping back next year, Villa having to deal with extra work load, will Spurs kick on? I doubt it. The only thing I can say with some certainty is that Arsenal and City will be 1 and 2... and that Chelsea will be much improved. In short, don't worry about what other clubs are up to, they will always cut each others throats.
  3. More than anything I've learned that when predicting results it's less about who's better or who's worse, but more about timing. We seemed to catch Brighton just as they have hit some form, after beating Villa, in the same way that we caught Spurs in shite form a few weeks ago. You'd think that this is Man United in the worst of form but..... I dunno, I felt that they weren't bad against Arsenal. They weren't good either... but they weren't bad. Arsenal batter most sides and Man United made one sloppy error to lose. Its also at Old Trafford, we are inconsistent at best on the travels and even when shite Man Uniteds home form is never terrible. One thing is for sure. I will be able to tell you within 10 minutes of kick off whether we are getting a result. We must start strong.
  4. Where has he said that? I watched a video with him the other day where he said 15 IIRC. Selling Wilson for 5 is a waste of time. Might as well have him putting the cones out.
  5. I actually entirely agree on the 2 players thing. Something like 100m. If I were to take a stab at how our transfer window went, it would be something like this: Tosin IN free (ish) Kelly IN free (ish) Miggy OUT 14-19m Wilson OUT 10-15m Something like: Neto/Williams/Olise IN 50m Solanke/Sesko IN 50m Then towards the end of the window, it would be a case of assessing what offers we get elsewhere. We might get a worthwhile offer for Targett or Krafth and the reality is that you just have to try and let them go. Anything we get back for them two, might allow us to do a Lewis Hall type deal (Loan with an obligation). If the above happened, we've had a good window IMO.
  6. I think it's as likely someone like Willock is sold late on and we replace him, than Bruno goes.

Why we not keeping Diallo? He seems to have loads about him. Certainly will find a career somewhere.

I'm 36 and I've seen them win fuck all too. Your extra 20 years counts for fuck all. Let's just thank the lord the club doesn't employ "realists" or it would be another 50 years before we win something.

Genuinely seems like it could be done next week. Likely to let the lad go and have a holiday.

    Callum Wilson

Give us 15m, sounds fair to me. 18m for Miggy. Plenty of FFP wriggle room back off that. Perhaps even a 5m for Krafth/Targett too...
  11. Please just play Joelinton, Trippier, Pope and Schar if he's available. We will get a draw at OT and that will do.

He will probably get slightly above what he otherwise would have had we paid a fee for him, and it will still probably double his current salary. What does "turning sour" look like? He's a good CB at present and I can't see a scenario where he gets worse.
  13. Chelsea and Man Utd aren't beating Brighton. One of them might but both won't. Either way, if we actually play our best players at Old Trafford, we stand a great chance of getting a draw. Man United aren't winning the FA Cup.

I'd say we are still at frontrunner stage, rather than agreed stage. Much easier to keep the concrete stuff quite when there is no selling party and also no real rush.

More than anything, just look at the size difference compared to every other player on the pitch.

He quite significantly better than Lascelles and Dummett isn't even a conversation. What stands out the most is that he's fucking massive. Like, remember Papa Bouba Diop. He's also quick and can play out from the back. On the downside, he sometimes has lapses in concentration but he's also coming into a club which has an outstanding coaching set up, so you can assume he will get better.. even if just a little. It's also a cracking deal, regardless of what his agent sponges out of it.

This "journalists know nothing" stuff needs to stop mind. Pretty much all of our local journalists have broken news before, stuff that was literally an exclusive. For example, I'm fairly sure it was Edwards, via his paper, that broke Popes transfer. They've also had some clangers but that's the nature of the business.

IIRC, it's quite common place for these sorts of deals to get leaked on the lead up to the last game of the season. Often players want to say goodbye to the club and fans etc. Be pleased if this one gets wrapped up early. Allows us more wriggle room elsewhere. We can publicly sign a pre-contract with him right? Like "Tosin will officially join on us on July 1st"?

    Lewis Hall

He's already decent, an his career is in its infancy. Really promising.
  20. And to add to it, the commentary box consists of a man United fan boy and a man who insists on saying the full name before every shot.
  21. This is just classic. For once I want an arsenal win and they turn to shite.
  22. Krafth was decent, considering my expectations of him. Half expect us to get an offer for him in the summer and we should move him on, if we get the chance. Again, an Emil Krafth, who can play competently at RB and CB should be a no brainer for an emerging PL side who just wants to get a foot in the door. From our point of view, every little helps from an FFP perspective.
  23. I was at the match yesterday and my overriding feeling was that we played a good side yesterday, who has just found their way back into some form and has some confidence. Their defence barely gave Isak and Gordon a sniff, certainly early on and they looked solid once behind their block. What didn't help was, and this is a reoccurring theme when we don't win, our poorer players were awful. It's one thing saying Isak was quiet or Bruno misplaced a couple of passes but Murphy in particular was awful. Tino although certainly not a poor player was done a couple of times, Hall was OK but made a few poorer passes. I actually thought our centre halves, and indeed our man for man tactic worked for the most part. We forced their keeper to punt it down the middle and while some thought it was an error, I felt that they never looked dangerous from them balls. Overall it was a sub par performance against a very solid side, who I'm 100% sure will aid us in our European quest. Against Man Utd, we need to see changes. Trippier, Joelinton, Pope and Miggy/Barnes all to come in.... and Schar if available (we chronically missed his distribution).
