He was an incredible centre back. Theres probably been only 10 PL CBs that have been better than him. Terry Rio VVD Kompany Campbell (prime) Im already struggling to think of anyone whos definitely better than Vidic after those.

Given and Pope we're two keepers playing in the wrong eras. Pope would have been one of the best in league in the 90s/00s (not that he isnt now) his shot stopping, sweeper, commanding style was a much better fit for then. Given would have flourished even more in the modern era, playing out from the back and modern coaching. Both great keepers, neither really managed to break into the elite category but really good a consistent. Both cracking blokes too.
