  1. I'm not having this Man Utd side. They just aren't very good. We can't be going to Old Trafford thinking we are playing Man Utd circa 2003, we are going there playing Spurs circa 2003. Don't let the size and reputation of the club convince you otherwise. They are very beatable, provided the refs don't give them everything.

    Miguel Almirón

Not entirely sure but by my calculations he has 9 goals in 16 games including friendlies. Of course friendlies "don't count" but still impressive form.
  4. Aye, Toney dummies the ball after coming back from an offside position.
  5. Late to post but my thoughts: I actually thought we played better against Palace and Bournemouth at times. The difference was that Frank didn't play a low block, which is suicide against us. If you sit behind the ball and ask us to break you down, then we might struggle but if you open up and leave spaces we work the ball very well. They gifted us 3 goals but you have to take into account the sheer persistence of our pressure. In this league, if you want to play out from the back, you need to be bloody good or it can cost you. Ultimately Brentford had Mee and Ajer trying to play out and thats crackers in reality. Wilson should have had 2 goals today, let's hope he saving them for Old Trafford.
  6. Classic Lee Charnley move that, just when the footballing world expects a change of manager, bam, a new long contract.
  7. I'm here for nostalgia from this past year... jizz it all over my face and I will take it like a whore.
  8. The one that "fits" for me is that Rafa from Benfica. Reckon he'd be perfect for us.
  9. Makes you wonder what they actually do on the training ground. I swear it all starts with the sheer lack of training the players do. West Brom players probably aren't fit enough to walk onto the field after a session with Brucey and the lads.
  10. Stevie being abused again. Poor little cock. Don't worry Steve, the abuse stage is normally followed by the sack stage and then it's the Dubai stage. That normally makes you feel better. Have yourself a bab tonight with Alex, just to calm your little ticker down.
  11. West Ham are weird. It's like, you know they are a decent side but could be so much better. Like a cluster fuck of decent players, all playing a different game.
  12. We need quality players in attacking areas. It doesn't really matter which player he would be pushing out of the team, whether it's Willock, Miggy or even Maxi. Our most important player is Bruno and he and Maddison are entirely different players and would work well together IMO. The rest is secondary, in the grand scheme.
  13. I suppose that more where he was on the line up. Got his assist for Daka from that position.
  14. Disagree. I think Rafa would be perfect to sort Forest out. He only needs to make them hard to beat because they have some decent attacking players.

While I agree with your sentiment, finishing 9th means 2 sides from below us finish above us. Liverpool, ok that's understandable but which other side finishing above us, at this stage, wouldn't you disappointed with? That's it for me, it's not to do with being annoyed about league position per say, it's annoyed about sides I deem worse than us, finishing above us, if that makes sense.

    Callum Wilson

You've completely misunderstood my post. I'm saying in 2 years time, when he's 32, he might not be first choice, in fact it's a certainty given his injury problems but even in that capacity he's a great option.

    Callum Wilson

Belta. Even as a 3rd choice, in the future, he's a class act who would score goals with his zimmer frame.

How can you say if the trend continues we will be 10th, when we are 7th? The "2 wins" thing is only telling part of the story. 1 loss would be equally as telling. Don't get me wrong, our clear issue is going to be breaking down teams in tight games. However, the difference is that we will always be in games to begin with. The only issue, as far as I can see, is keeping enough of our potent players fit for long enough of the season. We can deal with one of Maxi, Bruno, Wilson, Trippier etc missing. When it becomes 2 or 3, we have issues.

West Ham were my biggest worry and still have the most comparative squad but I sense they will have teething problems all season.
  20. Jenas is also a complete liar, who tries to pull the wool over people's eyes.
  21. Just had a peek at the Villa forum. Turns out they have their heads switched on. They pretty much unanimously want him gone.
  22. Out of everyone in football, I dislike Gerrard the most. He's a nasty piece of work, who's been deified by scousers, despite asking to leave them when they were largely shit. Loads of pundits talk about "Stevie G" being the best English midfielder but Xavi talked about Scholes, who I totally agree, was a class above. Gerrard played for Gerrard, Gerrard is now managing for Gerrard. He has no interest in his players or at the club he manages. His only interest is getting the big games at his beloved Liverpool. I for one hope that he somehow lands that job because it will showcase his entire lack of brains or class. I'm actually starting to feel sorry for Villa fans.
