I'm not sure how anyone could look at the PL and suggest it lacks quality. It's got about 9 sides who would compete for titles in any other league in the world, given a good run. It's just highly competitive and its as easy to lose half a dozen as it is to string a few wins together.

Totally agree. It's the perfect nursery pool for us IMO. Extra games but of a lower standard. Away to FCwhothefuck in Europe are exactly the sorts of games where Lascelles, Longstaff, Murphy can get a game. Save the class lads for the bread and butter of the PL.

It's a snowball affect. Some will, somewhat rightly, point out that our performances have hardly improved since players have returned and fixture congestion has easied. I'd argue that the damage was already done. The bulk of our first team are certainly mentally fatigued and probably physically fatigued too. Their confidence is shot and to add to that they've still got annoying injuries still occurring throughout the squad and key players missing too. It's been like a game of whack-a-mole for some time. Personally, I think at the soonest opportunity we need to bring, Miley, Anderson, Targett, Lascelles and maybe even Krafth into the starting 11. Some fresh legs and fresh minds. If we still lose, cest la vie. In the summer we need some signings who haven't been traumatised by this seasons hardships.

We could have played Matt Richie. I wouldn't have complained had we lost.

Still love the bloke. Achieved more in his tenure than the last 20 years of anyone else. Cup final, Cup runs, CL football, big scalps, record breaking and so on... No matter what happens this year, he has my back next season. There's no other option. Anyone who has delusions of Naglesman etc will be sorely disappointed when they fuck off because we can't sign half a dozen high tier players each window or more likely they show no loyalty when a so-called bigger fish ask for their service. I want stability. I want medium/long term thinking. Sacking Eddie would just make us another shitefest of a club like Spurs, Man United or Chelsea, with no long term plan or strategy. My main concern is whether the infrastructure of the club is being grown. Are we maximising commercially? Are we producing a high standard of young players? A new training ground? Stadium expansion? These are the things which will shape our future, not whether we have a rough patch in the league. Holding our nerve will pay dividends in the future.

We don't know the full details of the fee though. It would be stupid to get annoyed about something that isn't clear. More over, if its a long term strategy to spend on young players, then being stuck in the short term is irrelevant. The fact some of our fans don't have any patience, doesn't make the strategy wrong.

Perhaps it's just a development plan. Making him train with us for a season. Wonder if he will go out on loan next season.
