  1. It's also price dependant. He's stock has dropped massively and we shouldn't be paying the English tax.
  2. I think I gave the transfer window a solid 7. On revision, it's been closer to a 9. Ultimately, as Howe predicted, the players who were already here are as key to us staying up as the new signings.
  3. Yeah I had been banging the Tarkowski drum but I've now seen the light. He's just not good enough as a footballer, he's very much in the Lascelles mould. Both Schar and Burn are much better players and there is an arguement that at least one of them won't be starting for us next season.
  4. Disagree. He's being constantly shifted out wide to accommodate others at Man Utd. Ignoring his recent form, he has everything to be a great striker. His finishing and movement are great, he's good in the air, he's pacey too. If he can score the number of goals he did from wide areas, in his younger days, then he can certainly play through the middle and get well into double figures.
  5. Rashford playing as a proper number 9 with Bruno, Tripper and ASM supplying him would be class. The kid needs a new lease of life. I'm not convinced Man Utd wouldn't sell to us. They are going to have to have a massive clear out and replacements cost money. He's barely getting a game for them. I'd certainly ask the question.

    Kieran Trippier

Best bit was when he said that Howe will keep doing drills until everyone gets it right. From grills to drills.
  7. Again, it comes down to recruitment plans. We can't shift/buy a whole squad and it wouldn't be wise to. I think natural progression would see Shelvey playing second fiddle to Bruno or another new signing, next season.
  8. Arsenal play some pure sexy football.
  9. If I could pick 5 players in the league Newcastle definitely won't sign, Saka would be one of them. He's untouchable.
  10. Fair play to him. Honesty is refreshing.
  11. We aren't going down man. Norwich, Burnley and Leeds are flat-lining, Watford too. Everton need a result like Brentford had at Norwich and then they will be away too.
  12. First time I've seen him in the flesh... fuck me he is a giant. His thighs are the size of Fraser.
  13. Can't see any way in which Howe sticks with the same 11 IMO. He's a data man and if it's going to lose them energy he will make changes.

    Emil Krafth

When we did get forward, Krafth was making some excellent overlapping runs, which was clearly a tactic. At the very least the lad grafts his arse off, hustles and does what his manager asks but yes quality is lacking. I don't think he's a write off as PL player, just not with us.
  15. They had loads of the ball and were playing it in our areas but in the first half we had 4 good chances and they had one or two. You can absolutely see why Brighton are nowhere near a relegation tussle. A well run side and I imagine that with Bissouma and Maupay they have more cutting edge. Ultimately we are riding the crest of a wave and I couldn't be happier. In a good way, today we saw some clear areas that need work. Which is nice for Eddie and the coaches. I think it's time for a proactive change.
  16. He will be an important squad player next year. At least under Howe, you know you will at least get a decent Shelvey.
  17. When does the winner get announced?

    St James' Park

I've said it before and I will say it again, we should work WITH the council to find a solution. It's also massively in the councils interests to help SJP expand and respect the cultural/traditional importance of the stadium. They should get their heads together and look for solutions. If that means NUFC paying extra to be given permission to make serious changes, then so be it.
  19. I don't disagree but I'd rather concentrate on what we can do to them. I think we are all scarred by what Lamptey did to us previously.
  20. I like hearing from her but she and the other members of the consortium need to be smart about who they talk to. It's fine doing an interview with a local journalist, who's interest is in football but if they think some capital hack is bothered about Newcastles future, they are mistaken.

    Kieran Trippier

They are all sound TBF. Buvey loves to bait people and Rory is very reactive but otherwise the kickoff is brilliant.

    St James' Park

Could end up with a nice new one.
